patient_dream said:Protest said:" it will all depend just how awake the new MP's are"No , depends on how determined we are to waken them up and point them at the problem
Outcome somewhat disappointing! So we need to do different? Louder? More?

Nellymoser: " I will badger my new MP as @Protest suggests.I am trying to get my MP to ask questions of the Minister/DLUHC about progress, deadlines etc. This involves exchanges of correspondence rather than questions in the House which depend on scarce air-time. (Check out Hansard since 2019!!) The obvious weakness is the Ministerial enthusiasm for "ASAP" as a deadline and little said about progress. So who else can be brought in to play? Many other MPs would be helpful. Sunak, given his 2018 pledge to move swiftly? DLUHC Committee (MP oversight - busy and not really effective). Consumer bodies - Which/RAC/AA? etc This generates noise, ideally picked up and amplified by journalists - their story is about DLUHC inertia and the ongoing consequences for motorists.Local MPs tend to have bulging PCN case files but now many MPs are novices. They may need briefing/education?6

There's actually been a constant flow of written questions tabled to LUHC Minister from MP's asking when the Code will be re-issued. Two came from Sir Greg Knight after the Call for Evidence consultation closed. The Minister's reply was always the same "in due course."

Since MP's seem accepting of the Minister's repetitive useless response perhaps we need to voice louder and more often that responses such as this are completely unacceptable from a Minister and their Department.3 -

I would have thought that it was the ministers in the MHCLG. ?
The Rt Hon Angela Rayner MP, Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, chairs the board.
Other members are: Jim McMahon OBE MP, Minister of State. Matthew Pennycook MP, Minister of State.
I believe that Sir Greg Knight MP is now retired and didn't stand for re-election1 -
It's (thankfully) NOTHING to do with the Dept for Transport. Angela Rayner and other DLUHC/MHCLG ministers should be lobbied.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

"People first, government second"
Where does Angela Rayner stand on this ?

We will have to remind Angela if she forgets it's "People first, government second"

Nellymoser: "We will have to remind Angela if she forgets it's "People first, government second""The full strapline is something like People first, government second, but above all do nothing except prevaricate. waffle and waste money.Angela will not have time to pick up on such a trivial matter, especially if it comes with a venomous BPA/IPC lobby.Who is the minister now responsible?0
