  • Day 3 of the month, and so far have achieved 3 No Unnecessary Spending Days.

I did do a "big" (well, it's big for me, most people may consider it little more than emergency rations!) weekly grocery shop earlier today and added a few extras like ice lollies because they work out at about 20p each, compared to £2.50 each from the ice cream man, and a huge crate of beer for £10. We take a couple of bottles with us when we go for a picnic by the river, rather than going to the riverside bistros and kissing goodbye to at least £50 for lunch. A fancy homemade picnic of something like vegetable flan, olives, dips, crudités, fruit salad, shortbread and beer works out at about £5 for the both of us. As an added bonus, we get to share it with the happy little ducks🦆
  • Forgot to add, by careful budgeting and watching the pennies in June I was able to transfer another little wodge of cash from my current account into my savings account 🥳

Also, I won a £25 Amazon voucher by submitting a money-saving tip on my energy provider's Facebook page. That's my partner's birthday present sorted 😁
