I've issue 3 of this account.Would it be worth opening  issue 4 (£1) and transfer my funds over when the 12 month bonus expires on issue 3
    24/1/25?

Could be worth opening in case you need it in future.  All it needs is £1 which will be earning you 4.85%.

I won't be opening this account any time soon because I already have plenty of backups paying a better rate, but if I was in a different position I would open issue 4 and transfer funds from issue 3 there.

are you sure about that date? I have issue 2 and that wasn't launched until July 2024, so bonus rate would last until July 2025... remember that it's a bonus rate for not make too many withdrawals, and not a separate bonus paid at the end of the 12 months.

in any event, if issue 3 is paying 4.75%, then surely it would make sense to close it now, get the interest accrued so far at the bonus rate and transfer the balance to issue 4 @ 4.85% ? you'll still have 3 withdrawals available for the next 11 weeks and 3 more in the new year.

perhaps one thing to consider with keeping issue 3 open might be if you think there may be loyalty accounts in the near future that would require 12 months continuous membership etc.

Unfortunately, Ulster Loyalty Saver drops to 4.75% (from 5.2) today. That said, i can't see anything better thats truly instant access!
Trading 212 ? 5.1% and withdrawals now are in a matter of minutes.  Free £10 minimum share too when you sign up (up to maximum of £100)
Is Trading 212 classed as an Easy Access saver given that some of your savings can/will be invested in QMMFs and that part of it is not protected by FSCS?
Unfortunately Ford bank dosn't do instant as in seconds or a few minutes transfer so if you do a transfer hoping to pay a bill you''ll have to hope to remember in the afternoon whe n the money finally comes through which would be not so bad if one didin't need so many bills, platforms to transfer in and out of otherwise get the £40 quid administer charge for late payments

    Yes got the date wrong.
And l also didn't realise  the 12 month bonus was for not withdrawing.
Thank you for putting me straight.

to be accurate, it's just a bonus rate for the first 12 months regardless of how many legitimate withdrawals you have or have not made.

Chetwood Bank Easy Access Account  nudges up from 4.81% to 4.86%
    Thank you @Bridlington1
I've never heard of this bank before.  The account was very quick and easy to open.  Good to have another one on the waiting list.  The only drawback is the next working day delivery.

Ditto. All pretty slick so far. West Brom could learn a thing or several!
  • @soulsaver I think you've accidentally removed the Vanquis 4.85% account from your no chat table, unless there was some other reason it's been taken off?
