They (Cynergy) use Jumio for ID. The coloured square app was 2 or 3 years ago. I don't know how long ago they made the current one but it's like any other good app now.

I've had an ISA or EA acct with them for a few years running now. The desktop login has always been very problematic but I find the app ok.

The new login works a lot better than the old Authenticator App.

However, some Cynergy online statements are still misleading. For example…

I had an Online Easy Access account Iss94 paying 4.22%. I recently closed the account and transferred the balance to a new Easy Access account Iss97 paying 4.27%.

If I go to the new account and request a statement, all I get is an empty statement dated 24/2/2025 telling me the account has been closed. The account number on the statement matches the new Iss97 account.

Also Cynergy do not appear to automatically inform HMRC of interest payments via the BBSI reporting system.
