I haven't received any notice of the variable part of the rate changing, but the bonus rate of +3.15% ends this year leaving a really poor rate of 1.05%, for me I have a note that I loose the bonus part in September.SH88SH88 said:Is the 4.2% Tesco Internet Saver rate being reduced, please ?1 -
Post Office Online Saver Issue 79
Just received an email saying that annual interest rate* will drop from 4.15% to 4.05% on 23 Jan 26.
* Interest rate is made up of an underlying rate (changing from 1.0% to 0.9%) and a bonus rate (staying at 3.15%) that is fixed for 12 months from account opening.1 -
Charter Savings Bank:-
New one for me .... just had an email saying they are going to change Issue 62's name to Issue 59. I've never seen any other Bank change an Issue number before (YMMV).
The interest rate is unaffected ... so why are they doing this, I wonder? And what happens to those already holding Issue 59? I'm glad I only have ~£1 in as a holding account.
Edit Change takes place 5th Feb.Compiler of the RS League Table.
Being nosey... How many Regular Saver accounts do you have? — MoneySavingExpert Forum0 -
Sounds like a bit of tidying up to me. They've maybe realised that 62 and 59 have the same terms, so administratively it makes no sense to have identical accounts with different issue numbers. You could always ask them why, but the NBS staff that handle Charter may not know.1

Mine changed from 58 to 57. The same - £1, it wouldn't be appropriate to exceed the minimum requirement at 3.9%Bobblehat said:Charter Savings Bank:-

Current Charter EA is Issue 70 at 4.06%.
I have 69 at 4.18%.1 -
Are Charter the one that you can SM and ask to change the issue number to the current one when it pays a higher rate than your issue? That would make more sense than what they are doing now.0
