  • I don't know if this has been mentioned. Yorkshire BS's Rainy Day Saver account (5.00% variable, limited access) now appears to be NLA in its online variant. But it still seems to be available for branch/postal applications (one wonders for how long).

Big fan of the Investec 90 Day Saver again, giving a good balance between EA and a traditional Fixed.

Has Investec participated in the recent interest rate reductions yet?
    Perhaps yes. See https://investecuk-ofs-documents.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/previous-interest-rates.pdf
which shows that their fixed rate offerings were reduced on 12 August but not the Online Flexi or the 90 day account. Personally I'd be surprised if the 5.25% lasted much longer but who knows.

I opened the Investec 90 day account yesterday.  The product terms state they will give "at least 104 days" notice for any rate reduction.

Yes, for existing customers. They can, of course, withdraw the product for potential new customers with no notice at all.

Quite. That's why I opened it yesterday!

just opened a cahoot savings account.
i seem to remember a bit of chat about existing login/issues regarding getting online

iv'e never had an account with them but wondered what issue i may run in to? could i have had a product with another company that may now be cahoot?  would my Santander login in some way be a problem/usable?

just want to be on the ball and not wait a week to then find something could have been done now.
    thank you.
all gone smoothly opening the Sunny Day Saver.
thought i may as well open the Simple Saver. can't be opened directly through account while logged in?

it also states they can't match all my details so i need to print off and fill in a form and photocopy ID and POST it to them. how can the details not match?
i can't be bothered with all that, anyone else get this? is there any chance they may just put the new account with my existing login without all the faff?

I've had a Sunny Day account for a while. Opened a Simple Saver recently and had to put all my details in again (name, address, etc) which seemed like a lot of unnecessary extra work. It was quickly approved and appears in my list of accounts when I log in.

I have a failed ID check every time I try opening a Cahoot account, despite being an existing customer.  First time it happened it was a nightmare, I had to send ID by post twice as they lost the first, then they lost the application as it had timed out due to it taking so long for ID to be sent (re-sent).  Eventually got it opened due to complaint, but still can't open online myself.  Last time they told me there is a known problem with a few customers, that for some reason correct electronic checks fail.  They obviously still haven't cured the problem 🙄
