Is it instant, or does it take a while?I can tell you that the process for closing a Cahoot account is bizzare!.They will only close an account if you first withdraw the current balance leaving zero showing. Then you have to phone them (in Ireland!) and ask to close the account - at which point any accrued interest is added in and transferred to your linked account. Duh!1

You don't need to phone. You can send a secure message requesting a closure, but you must zero the account balance and include your full address.1 -
I failed doing this. I still had to phone them. Closed two accounts which transferred a few pence by internal transfer to another cahoot account (didn't need to go to my external account)chris_the_bee said:Cahoot

Yes, happy with that Kevin.KevinG said:
They did put it UP from 4.60% to 4.75% in March at a time when interest rates were falling (admittedly having cut it from 4.85% the previous month).MichaelAP said:Atom Instant Saver Reward ~ Rate reduction received. Information in the App only at the moment.

Oxbury Bank Easy Access Bonus Base Rate Tracker 1 4.48% (includes 0.7% variable bonus till 18/10/25) £1k min.3 -
Interesting, I hadn't seen a rate tracker from Oxbury before. It seems to have many variables which they can adjust (such as what margin they leave on the base rate), as well as a bonus only lasting < 3 months. I already have an easy access with a higher base rate from them with no tracking.. but if one thinks rates might increase then maybe (assuming they don't further increase the margin to base rate).Bridlington1 said:@soulsaver

On a slightly related note,Is it usual for Oxbury to offer existing customer accounts rates that are exactly the same as non-customers?My last 2 (existing customer) Bonds have been at an increased rate but the ones on offer now don't seem to be different. No huge deal but it would have been nice to have some loyalty rate (as previous bonds have)!0

No, it isn't normal for them to do that. Their existing customer accounts usually either pay a higher rate of interest or (more commonly) are only available to existing customers and not new customers (particularly the 3, 6 and 12 month accounts).tonypyorkshire said:On a slightly related note,Is it usual for Oxbury to offer existing customer accounts rates that are exactly the same as non-customers?My last 2 (existing customer) Bonds have been at an increased rate but the ones on offer now don't seem to be different. No huge deal but it would have been nice to have some loyalty rate (as previous bonds have)!
BTW - it does tend to get shunted quite far down the forum at times, but there is a dedicated thread for fixed rate account discussions

From the ToTP top 10ish ranked easy access accounts available (note page 1 caveats) the list of NLA accounts has been updated to include May to June '25 details - so is now Aug 24 - June '25 inclusive:

Just stating the obvious to avoid confusion: The rates/detail included will be correct at the time they were 'demised' but may be OOD now.4 -
