ECP DCB LEGAL court claim 2025
Comments

I've had a missed call/voicemail claiming to be from DCB Legal (firm representing ECP) stating they've been trying to get in touch and that I need to call them back urgently.
I've not had any email or letter contact in the past month so this seems unusual and doesn't follow the standard process. Is this likely just them trying to offer a deal? I'll obviously continue to ignore any phone calls.

Yes it will be, so ignore them ( its certainly standard practice for them )
The single and only important or relevant call is the mediation stage, nothing else

Thank you! Yes standard practice for sleazy law firms I suppose.

Hi again, I am now at the witness statement, small claims letter stage. Date they have given is 30th April with the claimant's deadline to pay the court fee 2nd April. I've read the newbies page but do you recommend I wait until their payment deadline before I begin preparing my WS or should I get started now? Also, can someone be clear on HOW I send my witness statement and evidence, via email or does it have to be a letter? They haven't included an email address on their letter.

They never include an email address. You just Google it for your court.
What's the deadline for the WS?

Got it. Thanks. 9th April is my deadline for witness statement. I started a draft last night but just a reminder of the context of this case:
POC: failed to validate ticket for full duration of stay.
My stance: car park in question ultilises a pay on exit policy. On exit of car park operator error on ticket machine incorrectly set time of arrival as 22:38 (I arrived at 17:55) with no way of changing this. I paid the fee requested by the machine and then recieving my PCN several weeks later.
Also sidenote: despite informing all parties about my change of address, the notice of allocation managed to merge together my old and new address. Luckily it arrived to the correct house but very nearly could have had a very tricky situation on my hands. I've notified all parties including the court of what my address should be.
These crooks have no shame I swear.

As their deadline to pay the court fee comes first (2nd April) they'll discontinue on April Fool's day!

Notice of Discontinuance officially served!
I'm currently away but I'll post a copy of the doc as soon as I'm back but wanted to share the good news with you all.
2 years later and we made it.
Thank you everyone.

Yay - a couple of days earlier than predicted but please do post the NoD (not the email) when you return!
