Morning all,
Unwinding with a coffee after 2 hours planting and watering in at the allotment. At times, I was doing so in fine mizzle, such are the joys. Mr Robin supervised from a safe distance. Of course, now that I’m home, the sun has just tried to peek through. Oh well, the indoor drying can go outside in a minute.
DH is out for the day visiting aged relations with DSiL. DD came home yesterday from uni with a car full of Stuff. Including some washing and a load of houseplants. She is away on her holibobs on Monday.I was reluctantly (understatement) away with work for a couple of days. I waved to various flyladies as I dusted off my passport to head northwards up the M1. I was within touching distance of a couple of flyladies, but the work schedule didn’t allow for a flymeet. Next time though…you know who you are and you are warned…😉🤣.
Flying is definitely taking a backseat atm. I need to find the flying guag and dust it off. I’m calling it fly-maintenance level, but think that it’s only me that I’m fooling 🤣. Shut the door and the chaos doesn’t exist!Oohh, there is rumour that the builders might start on the garage next week. Finally. The work has only been needed for 18 years…5 -

Afternoon all, it's a slow day here at Chez Jings. We're both tired and resting from the heavy week. I've just put the dishwasher on and seasoned a slab of pork shoulder for Sunday dinner tomorrow. I also just stripped the bed and put the mattress protector and two pillow protectors in for a good long wash.
Next I'll tackle the mountain of clothes on my side of the bedroom, along with the window sill. I'm hoping we can vacuum the carpet in the bedroom today or tomorrow as well.
The back door, bedroom windows and the front window are open to get some fresh air flowing through the house.7 -
Done:
Sorted washing into loads
Washed two loads
Gave two loads an extra spin
Draped two loads on the airer*
Put out the rubbish
Put new bin bags in bins
Put out the recycling
Fed the birds
WULTD
Took the laundry hamper back upstairs
Finished reading my book and added it to cs pile.
Put secateurs and roll of bin bags in miscellaneous kitchen drawer - there's room for them now 😊
Going to knit now
Rxx

We had a trip to the tip to get rid of the radiator the plumber had swapped out, plus other stuff that was waiting to go. I thanked the Christmas lights for their service a la Marie Kondo. They packed up a couple of years ago and the repair cafe people couldn't do anything with them. They had decorated 3 generations of my family's trees since the 1950s. Was sad to see them go, but they need to be released.Came back and have been playing with the solar and battery as we have Agile tariff which paid us to use electric in the early afternoon. We dug out the small induction hob to heat soup, instead of using the gas, and I made a flapjack in the oven and a loaf in the breadmaker. Turned on the immersion heater for the water. Caught up with the ironing, put a long hot wash with cleaner in the washing machine. Re-charged the battery when there were negative rates.Kitchen's a bombsite which will need tidying up before dinner.Make £2025 in 2025

l red washing in and ironed. Popped out to see/hear a choir/orchestra of Mozarts requiem. Strangers spoke to me so my ignorance was evident… second ever classical performance…
Lilac cardi border knitted, sewing up has commenced.

Morning all
Hope you are continuing to improve Jazee.
Love to everyone having tough times at the moment x
Nice day yesterday. We went to a stately home about an hour way then drove on to the coast. We took a picnic and used our Historic Houses membership so it was a cheap day. I was in thermals, jeans and a jumper but the sun shone.
After speaking to the very lovely Mental Health Practitioner at the doctors on Friday and working through some of the homework he sent me I had a light bulb moment last night. I have so little time for myself to balance out a stressful job, and because DH is home 24/7 and feeling ill, his needs have completely swamped mine. I am now working on plans to get a bit of my life back while still supporting him.
Day at home today, DH might need help with a DIY project, there is a bit of flying to do and I want to get out on the bike later if I can.9 -
Morning all.
Hope the flu will soon be a thing of the past, Jazee x
Glad you had a lovely day yesterday, YL. I know exactly what you mean about your DH's needs swamping your own. My DH's health is so unpredictable that whatever plans we make, I can never guarantee that they will actually happen. Half term week was a case in point. This week we have booked 5 days later this month at my DD's and a weekend in August at a B&B in South Wales so that we can go to a party organised by my eldest goddaughter - I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we actually get to them both! And all the flying and food shopping and everything else takes me twice as long as it used to as my arthritis gets worse (I went to the GP on Friday and there's not a lot they can offer except stronger painkillers), and so I go out less and less during the week because there are still things on my to-do list. I need to arrange more "last-minute"-type outings during the day with friends.
However, on Thursday of this week we are looking forward to an organ concert in the big city's Town Hall, including lots of atmospheric film music. I had a mild panic on Friday night when I checked the venue website and realised that the date wasn't even down in our diary, and then I couldn't find the ticket email on my phone (I've been decluttering, filing or deleting everything that's no longer relevant) though I knew I had booked seats, but yesterday morning I suddenly realised that the email must have gone to DH instead. He checked his inbox and the panic was over before I'd had a mouthful of breakfast: he just hadn't forwarded the mail to me, and had also totally forgotten about it.
Must get ready for church now. The hoovering up of Rosie's moultings can wait until later - that will be my flying for the day. I might take K and the girls out this afternoon. Hope everyone has a peaceful and pleasant Sunday xxx8
