Welcome back Slinky
I've done some admin and emptied DW, ironed a maidenful and eaten soup for lunch (HM and from the freezer) because it's so cold...
Tea will be bolognaise from the freezer so that's a fair bit of freezer flingageDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Ah Slinky, that all sounds so familiar!
Today I have:
- walked the dog, who appears to be over her ‘runny tummy’ problem at last
- found Cycle Route 2 by accident while walking said dig at the garden centre
- bought a new bird feeder to see if that solves our problems and put fat balls, sunflower hearts and peanuts in it, and washed out the bird bath and refilled it
- scored a new to me laptop with Windows 11 on it and accessed it. It’s updating now so we’ll see if I can adapt to it. Wasn’t much of a fan of Windows 10, but at least this laptop is kosher
- bought a new pot for a houseplant which needed potting up, which Beloved did
- taken all the side shoots off the indeterminate tomatoes and tied in the supports for them
- repotted a forgotten tomato plant which is more than half dead, but they’re tenacious little things, so I have hope
- found out how to get a f’book account deleted for a deceased person, which I have been asked to do for the person who used to own the new to me computer
- found a way is carrying my keys on a relatively new bag that is tiny. I’m used to bags that are a lot bigger but I want to move away from carrying half my possessions around with me just in case ….- flown various bits of the house. I’m trying to clear all the small jobs that take less than 5 minutes while I deal with the bigger issues that need tackling, but those five minute jobs often need other things to be done first, and before I know it that 5 minute job has taken up a whole morning. That’s happened several times.Better is good enough.9 -
HB I think alot of us can relate to a 5 minute job taking all morning x
I am home from the paid stuff. The plan was to put my feet up before I have to go back to the paid stuff again but I came in to find crumbs all over the worktops, pots in the sink, the bed unmade and for some reason there are used mugs all over. Oh and the kitchen floor is filthy. DH has been out and would have got around to these tasks eventually.
It's so hard because DH and i have such different standards, and he isn't well. I have tidied up and put the DW on but not tackled the floor as yet. I intend to now have some quiet time.

@YORKSHIRELASS I was the same this morning. We both have neglected the kitchen this week and it became a tip. While I was emptying the DW and then refilling it, I noticed baked beans dotted on the floor. 🙄 Mr. Jings is such a messy cook, especially when he’s in a busy mindset. I only addressed the dishes because my right elbow / arm is still out of commission due to the cortisone shot yesterday at the physio. No heavy lifting, weird movements or general use for at least 48 hours she said. I’ll point the beans out to him and he can pick things up.That’s all the left handed flying I did today due to my arm situation. This weekend I’ll tackle the bed sheets, folding laundry and other tasks. On Sunday we’re both going to work on the bedroom because it looks like a teenager lives there. Lots of clothes piles due to having winter, spring, and summer clothes out due to the crazy weather. We’ll vacuum the carpet, clean window sills and windows, put up closet shelves and more. So, it’s a good thing I’m resting up with my arm for now.6

Well I cleaned the rest of the ensuite apart from the shower which I'll do in the morning. The mug which holds the toothbrushes and paste is in the dishwasher. Still got the bathroom and also the downstairs shower room to keep on top of. Bath has got washing hanging over it. I'm aiming to do the shower room on Monday. OH gets up early and uses that one on his commuting days. I'll shower in it too and clean when it's wet from him using it.My room of doom office is looking slightly tidier. I've cleared some of the junk off the windowsill. Some filed, some shredded, some binned, some on my desk to be dealt with still. There's about 3/4 of the windowsill visible now.No contact from the plumbers. Don't want to put the stuff back in the airing as all the shelves are out so it means reassembling them first, then they'd have to be disassembled when he comes back.Make £2025 in 2025

Evening all. Thanks @ionafan it's a relief to have done it.@Valli I didn't ring it because it was almost certainly lost in a pub near here that W & B took A to when they were standing in for me on Monday. I looked on Find My iPhone and I could see that the phone was at an an address over 3 miles from here so someone must have found it and taken it home. If they had wanted it returned to the owner surely they would have just handed it in.Yesterday we were just going out to some friends who live nearby for tea when A had a fall. It took me a while to get him up and into a chair and he didn't' then feel like going out. I rang our friends and they asked if they could come to us and A agreed. I then had to have a mega-quick tidy (not that it was bad, but I needed mainly to tidy the dining table so that I could put the the tea things on there. Not much flying done today - just food prep and washing up. I did give the cooker a bit of a clean as someone is coming to professionally clean it tomorrow and I felt a but embarrassed about its state.
I also touched up the paintwork on the wall next to the cooker. It's one of those little jobs that I never seem to get around to doing unless it's forced on me. Once it's done I really need to have something that sits on the floor of the oven to catch spillages that is safe and also won't blow around (it's a fan oven). Does anyone have any suggestions please?
A's skin rash is getting worse rather than better despite numerous consultations with the GP and various creams and ointments being prescribed and it is getting him down so today he decided to have a private consultation with a dermatologist. I popped over to some friends this evening for a quick drink and they recommended someone that they go to for various issues and said he's excellent so tomorrow we'll take that forward.I came home and made supper and am now about to wash up.8 -
My achievements today:
- S&S'd the bathroom
- wiped the kitchen worktops
- hoovered most of downstairs (DH did the LR)
- mopped the kitchen floor [that's proper flying!]
- did some financial admin
- shredded some receipts
- checked the tomatoes for side shoots (none)
- went out for lunch with DH and Rosie at a pub that we would be very happy to return to on a future occasion, then to the nearby Forest where Rosie bounded about like a mad thing, chasing squirrels and other interesting scents (but always came back immediately when I called her)
- came home and decluttered zzz
- went to visit K, though my knee objected to climbing 2 flights of stairs to her maisonette; sorted out dates for child-sitting (by me) and dog-sitting (by her and the girls)
- called briefly on two other people on my way home
- prepped and ate a light supper for us both (still feeling full of delicious lunchtime pie and chips)
It's been a very nice, relaxing day.
(((Hugs))) to all who have had a more stressful day, congratulations to everyone who has achieved more than I have (which will be all of you), and hopes for a good day for us all tomorrow xxx

so i did some training for a thing today, ironed, strimmed and partly mowed the grass…some too wet for the mower to pick up so that area strimmed and am hoping it will dry off tomorrow; then the mower will pick it up.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
