The high-up cobwebs: many years ago my Dad fixed a lightweight bristly cleaning brush (basically this type of thing Flexible Multi-purpose Dusting Brush - Ideal For Fans, Air Vents & Home Use, Long Handle For Easy Reach (temu.com) ) bent into a circle to a long bamboo cane (the sort you use for gardening) to tackle the cobwebs on their high ceilings. There is something very satisfying about being able to fix something and it keeps going strong.
  • Morning all, can't believe how quickly this week has flown by! Loving the sunshine and trying to get outside as much as possible.

Last weekend we had a huge declutter of the garage which resulted in 2 trips to the rubbish/recycling centre and 8 bags of stuff going to charity, DH also listed several items on £bay and marketplace, some of which has sold and the money has gone towards his next fishing trip and towards some storage boxes for things left in the garage.

Had lunch out on Tuesday with DH, used a gift voucher so was actually a no spend to us. Also dropped bags off to the charity we support, had a mooch around the shop whilst there and managed to pick up a brand new pair of shorts for DH and a found a book that is on my reading list so also grabbed that.

Wednesday was payday and money shuffle was done, also did the weekly food shop at Mr Ald1 still managed to spend £93!
Also managed a couple of survey payouts which will be sent to the holiday pot when they land in bank account.
Yesterday morning i was at work and will be at work today, really enjoying it and the extra money will be nice.

I have sold another couple of items of v1nted this week which have been packed and sent, also bought a dress which i have been watching it arrived yesterday and is stunning, brand new M0nsoon evening dress with tags and extra beads still attached for the bargain price of £6, it was over £100 NEW!! So i'm very happy  :D.

    Frugal wins -
    survey payouts (£35)
    recycled packaging for parcels.
    vinted sales and buys.
    charity shop bargains
Hens laying lots of lovely eggs resulting in some frugal lunches, egg sandwiches, quiche, cake anyone  :D

  • Good afternoon and what a glorious day it is, spent a good hour sat outside reading a book and eating an ice lolly. Stripped all the cushion covers off the outside sofa and got them all washed and dried by lunchtime/

Dh decided on having a bbq tonight so nipped to the butchers first thing, in my mind i was just buying sausage and burgers, £70 later and i have a freezer full of meat as there was lots of offers too good to ignore, i have used some of this months extra income to cover the cost.

small £bay sale which i packed up and dropped off at the post office, I have a couple of bits to list on vinted but havn't got the energy to do it today.

    Frugal wins -
3bay sale and free recycled packaging.
Ability to stock up on good offers as i had extra funds to do so.
    sunshine = free drying
  • Evening,

Monday and Tuesday was spent at work and gosh it was hot, feels a lot cooler today but have had showers on and off so no washing has been done, will probably leave it until weekend as its supposed to be hot and dry.

Some money spent on yesterday on a 2nd hand bed frame for the spare room, DH will put it together at the weekend then i need to sort that room out as it has become a bit of a dumping ground.

Weekly food shop done today mostly Mr A but had to pop into Mr S to get some bits unavailable in Mr A, bought some reduced veggies and some fruit and managed to bag 1500 nectar points on the fruit and veg challenge, I have about £25 in points and thinking of using them next week to reduce grocery spends and send the money saved to savings.
Popped into a couple of charity shops DD managed to bag 2 zara dresses one still had labels attached and there was a buy one get one half price offer on dresses cost her £12 for the 2 so she was really happy, I managed to pick up a couple of Larsson books i have been wanting to read for ages after watching the films and also managed to finally find a thin tan leather belt that i have been looking out for. Still looking for a silver evening bag but the universe isn't responding.

Had some money in so sent some to savings and some to CC to pay off some bits DH had ordered from Amazon and dog food, also paid for dog training.

    Frugal wins -
Reasonable priced 2nd hand solid wood bed frame
    charity shop wins
    CC cashback
  • Afternoon all.

Decided against putting a wash on this morning as it was gloomy and grey, went to work for a couple of hours and got back at lunchtime to find farmer muck spreading on the field in front of the house so glad i hadn't done a wash and hung it out.

Received a food item to test from a survey site and did the follow up survey, close to cashing out on that site, caught up with some other surveys and redeemed £10 from another survey site but takes 30 days to hit account.
Watched a bit of the olympics whilst catching up on surveys, really enjoyed watching the diving.

Rejigged meal plan as i forget to get chicken out of the freezer, only remembered once i got to work, so have changed paprika chicken with roasted veg to a garlic prawn pasta dish.

    Nearly the weekend xx

  • Great finds at the charity shop!
Thankyou, Do love a good rummage around a charity shop.
  • Afternoon, it's been a blustery sunny day today and perfect for getting washing dry so have had 3 loads washed and dried today.

Staying at home pottering day and have cleaned the house from top to bottom, do need to strip the beds in the morning and get it all washed and out on the line as it is going to be a lovely day. Decided as it is just me and DH in for tea this evening we would have steak, part of the large haul we got at the butchers last week, will do a salad and some roasted mushrooms and tomatoes.

In money news it's been a NSD, have ordered some work socks for DS as he was complaining his all had holes and wouldn't have time to go into town this weekend as he is working, so ordered from amaz0n as i have prime and they will be delivered tomorrow, he has transferred money to me already.
£5 redeemed from survey site pr!me 0pinions and has hit paypal so need to transfer that, have had quite a few surveys today and already back up to £5 on 1poll.

    Happy weekend everyone xx
