    Morning all,

Crazy few weeks at work and glad to be finished. Spending the weekend trying to wind down and switch off.

Yesterday i managed to spend some time out in the garden in the morning tidying the flower beds and reseeded an area of lawn that was looking sparse, did manage to get a couple of loads of washing dry before the rain came in.
Did a small aldi shop to see us through the next few days, will do a big shop later in the week when i have some energy.
Listed a couple of bits on vinted, low value items and if they don't sell i will pop them in the charity bag.
Ordered a stove top kettle from amazon, don't even know why i havn't thought of this sooner, obviously will only use in the colder months when woodburning stove is lit but should save us some money by not using the kettle as much, bought using vouchers as well so no cost.

Hope all is well with everyone xx

Morning, rained overnight and looks like it will continue all morning so i will leave washing until lunchtime when it is supposed to be brighter.
Working for friend today and should be finished about 1ish and then home to catch up on some house jobs. Emptied the airing cupboard into the spare room yesterday and need to finish sorting through bedding, couple of duvet sets to go to charity plus lots of random pillowcases, a nice childrens set i thought i might sell, a grey set i have put to one side as i think DS might take it, some old curtains that can also go to charity.
Couple of old towels can go into the porch for drying down dogs after walks.

Dog training tonight so a quick tea, probably leftovers, jacket spuds and salad.

Banking checked and some money in, made a payment off CC and moved £100 into Christmas savings. Sold something on v1nted overnight, label has been printed and i will pack it up later, money will stay in v1nted account for future purchases.

    Frugal wins -
Gift bags (7), ribbon and some envelopes that hadn't been stuck down saved and put away, these were from some gifts i received on Friday.
3 euros found in DH fishing jacket pocket, must of forgotten about them after his recent trip to France, saved into a holiday tin we have for holiday spends.
    V1nted sale.

    Have a great Monday xx

  • Afternoon all, the weather today is glorious and  have managed to get several loads of washing done and hung out to dry. Also managed to clean out the fridge and have a good  tidy round.

Friend asked if i could work a couple of hours this morning  cleaning out some of the storage units they have, so a few more pennies made. Then went to Mr Ald1 managed to spend just shy of £100, couple of items i couldn't get so tweaked the meal plan as i couldn't be bothered driving down to Mr Sains.
Whilst out i dropped off v1nted parcels, did forget to take a bag of charity shop bits but it will wait until next week, also meant that i didn't buy anything as i do like a good rummage and DH always laughs at me for donating several items then coming home with a bag full of stuff  :D.

    Frugal wins-
Didn't go to the charity shop.
packaged parcels up using recycled packaging.
coleslaw made using odds from the bottom of the fridge

  • Afternoon all, Today has been a pottering sort of day getting lots of little jobs done, although i still need to hoover the cobwebs that have multiplied in the sunroom, only problem is that it is a high ceiling and i need to stand on a chair whilst holding the cylinder part of henri hoover in one hand and the nozzle in the other whilst stood on tip toes, not very safe so have decided DH can do that job when he gets in from work.

Opened a new savings account with NWide, its a flex regular 6.5% for 12 months, shame its limited to £200 a month, but i'm going to get DH to open 1 as well. Started it off by putting £200 christmas pot money into it.

Listed 2 items on ebay, both niche items so might take a while to sell. Survey seem slow today but i'm edging towards payout on a couple.

Dug up a couple of kilos of potatoes from the garden this morning, cooked some ready to make into potato salad to go with chicken kebabs tonight.

DH has been talking about having a couple of nights away at the beginning of September when schools go back, he is thinking either Scotland or North Yorks and taking the dogs. so need to investigate costs and if we have enough in the holiday pot.

    Frugal wins -
    Potatoes
    savings account
Gifted a plant from a neighbour
  • Morning all,

Seemed to get caught up with a million and one little jobs yesterday, but at least i have ticked some off my list and eaten a couple of frogs.
Booked a couple of nights away in september, which i am looking forward to and will be close to Be@mish museum so i'm looking forward to that.
Sold a couple of items on v1nted, so close to having enough money in my pot to buy a dress i have been watching, might try a cheeky offer.
DH helped a farmer friend a couple of weeks ago with a small job, friend turned up yesterday with a 2kg joint of beef from one of his animals as a thankyou, have popped it in the freezer for a lovely sunday roast later in the year.
My faithful comfy well worn berk sandals decided to break yesterday, the sole at the front started to come away, I have managed to glue it and wedged it under a dining table leg overnight to keep it stuck together, seems to have worked and hopefully they will last a bit longer, i love these sandals so comfortable, but they did take a while to break in so not looking forward to having to break another pair in.

Today i am working this morning, dogs have already been walked and fed, just waiting on the washer to finish so i can get that pegged out before i go,. Hoping to get a few surveys today as i'm 60p off payout on 0nep0ll.
Chicken is out of the freezer for chicken and mushroom strogonoff and a bottle of wine is already chilling for tonight.

    Frugal win -
    Free beef joint.
    v1nted sales and recycled packaging.

I hope you manage to fix your sandal for a while longer 🤞Nothing nicer than the promise of a bottle chilling in the fridge for later.
