Wow! Such a long time since I posted.
Everything is good here, life is ticking along and the difference in my MH since leaving my previous job is so much better.
Christmas was lovely and we had a fantastic holiday last month which blew the January cobwebs away.
The holiday we had planned for April has been cancelled as the flights changed and didn't work for us, luckily i was able to change the holiday and have booked to go to Italy early October.
Finances are ticking along and i have ended up with more work over the winter period than i expected or budgeted for, which is a win win. Mortgage continues to go down we are now in the 43s, 15 months and it will be gone.
Hope everyone is ok, off to catch up on diaries xx2 -
So Friday is usually grocery shop day but as we have quite a bit in and as i do the reverse meal planning decided to give it a miss as I was able to come up with a weeks worth of evening meals, for lunches we have lots of soup and sliced cooked meat in the freezer, eggs and tinned tuna and breakfasts there is oats, bagels, teacakes and frozen fruit. I will probably need some fresh fruit and milk later in the week but for now we are ok with what we have.
Taken out some fresh fish fro the freezer along with some roasted veg that i batch cooked when the christmas veg was pennies and have a bottle of white wine left over from christmas chilling.
DH is away working tomorrow and will need a packed lunch so have taken some bread rolls and some spicy chicken out of the freezer, I made a chocolate cake this morning, will add a banana and apple, witha flask of tea that will be plenty for lunch and hopefully no stopping at expensive services.2 -
Morning,
Up with the lark as DH is working away today and won't be back until late, packed lunch made for DH sandwich, HM cake, fruit and warmed up some HM chicken and veg soup to go into DH new food flask he got for christmas, hopefully it will stay hot and warm DH up at lunchtime as he is working outside all day. Freezer dive this morning resulted in some party bits i got for NY that didn't get eaten so having a picky tea, which will be nice in front of the TV this evening also stops the should we get a takeaway thought. Bacon and english muffins out for sunday treat breakfast will have with poached eggs, toms and mushrooms. Also Mince beef for tomorrow nights tea thinking of making beef cobbler with mash and veg, pudding will either be sticky toffee pud or mince pies as both are in the freezer depends on what everyone else fancies.
Should be a NSD today as nothing is needed, do need to pop out later and take DS to the train station as he is away until Monday and doesn't want to leave his car at the station car park as its not in the nicest of areas.
Finances checked and no change from yesterday, tomorrow may be a spendy day as we are going to look at cars, an expense i don't like but unfortunately when you live in the sticks its a need.
Woodburner is lit, log basket filled, I've switched off the CH as only me in today, DD is on a long shift and DH away working so me and the woofetts can stay warm in the front room, dishwasher and washing machine are both doing their thing, i'm hoping it stays dry as i've put dog blankets in to wash and want to hang out on the line as they are fleece blankets which do tend to dry quickly, trying to avoid using TD.
Frugal wins-
food from stores
free heat
Have a good weekend xx4 -
Afternoon all.
So cold today, woodburner lit and i'm wearing primani fleece leggings and a chunky jumper dress but cannot get warm, hope i'm not starting with any bugs. DD has been sniffly and i'm now cautious that with her working in a hospital she could be around all sorts of nasties.
Well Sunday did indeed turn into a spendy day as we purchased a new to us not new new car, traded our old one in and used savings to pay. Couldn't believe how much the sales people (different garages) wanted to push finance, trying to get us to take out finance on a 30k brand new car, absolutely not going to happen. They did genuinely seem surprised that we did not plan on using finance. Fingers crossed we pick up car at the weekend.
Yesterday was a work day and a NSD, today will also be a nsd.
Finances are ticking along although savings account looks very sad, so that will be the main focus to boost it back up. Made a claim for the flight from last months holiday 4,5hr delay fingers crossed on that one.
A few surveys done today and redeemed £15 from surveyb0d, a couple of other sites are edging closer to payout.
Pulled out a chicken and leek pie filling from the freezer, going to put a mash potato to on it and thats tea sorted.

Happy new car! I hope your feeling cold didn't come to anything. This cold weather does seem to be lingering a lot this year."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Afternoon all,
Another week has flown by and gosh it has been cold, although today has been dry and blustery so i pegged out. Almost dry when i brought it in not long ago and will just need an hour or so on the airer.
Picked up a few extra hours work this week and is looking as though lots of bookings are coming in for Easter time which is good.
Grocery shop was done Friday morning and spent £48 in Mr Al and £52 in Mr sains, decided to use £50 of n£ctar points so just £2 to pay in cash I then transferred £50 into savings as that pot needs building back up. Also had some money in so paid a couple of bills and sent another £400 to savings.
Me and Mr PW decided not to do cards etc for valentines and just has a dine in meal for the 2 of us, Was a lovely chilledc evening chatting and listening to music.
Yesterday was a spendy one as it was DD birthday, cooked her a meal she had requested followed by a colin cake which she has to have every year without fail. Her main present was money as she is off on her travels in a few weeks time, also got her a couple of little bits to open.
Right better walk the dogs and make tea xx3 -
Afternoon and it's a good drying, 2 loads of washing have been pegged out and are blowing in the wind, small things
. dogs walked first thing and then an hour spent tidying the garden.
Decided to have a baking morning today as i'm at work for the rest of the week after today, chocolate cake, flapjack and mince pies to use up an open jar in the fridge all made, I was going to make sausage rolls but didn't get the sausage meat out in time so still frozen, hopefully will get those done this evening when the oven is on anyway. Tonights tea will be some sort of creamy garlicky chicken probably with some leeks stirred in as i have a random one that could do with using up.
Finances are all ticking along nicely, had a lovely surprise this morning when checking accounts the flight compensation has been paid so that's just over 1k back into savings, redeemed some money from surveys, £5 from prime 0pinion which has already hit paypal and has been sent to savings, £12 redeemed from v1ewsbank and £20 from 0nep0ll.
Squared up the CC, had a few small amazon spends in the last week and they do add up but that's back to 0.
PWPS xx
