Morning all
3 x WM - just put one on.
Can we see the poem, Round?
Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear8 -
I can't upload photos to flylady because I pressed something on my phone once. But I'm happy to write it out for you. I did tell my colleague that the beginning and end are based around a poem I read at my grandma's funeral - before I'm accused of plagiarism 🤣
Flash
Do not look at my photo and cry,
I'm still with you, I did not die.
We are only a whisper apart,
A horse shaped hole now in your heart.
Memories of me are bitter sweet:
Your feisty f*ck that liked to eat.
(A polo mint or a bag of hay?
Give me the mint any day.)
Remember how I banged your nose?
How many times did I step on your toes?
You loved me and my ginger mane,
And did your best to beat my pain.
You gave me an extra year
Filled with love, you fought the fear.
Then you bravely faced the end
And let me go, my faithful friend.
Do not sit alone and grieve,
I'm still with you, I did not leave.

kazwookie said:Managed 10K steps yesterday, so please with that, not sure how many I will do today, as I see no point what so ever of getting cold / wet / soaked.I agree and always thought people who walked in the rain had a thing for pain, or just enjoyed it for the sake of it. How wrong I was! Back later when I've finished catching up with Fred.I turn my back for about 10 days and you have all been going through the mill. (((Hugs))) all round, I think.

Narco, if you're heading back to Dorset please drive safely. I hope your mother continues to improve but isn't discharged home until she's ready to cope.Round, your work situation sounds pretty toxic but if you can keep going for 33 more paydays retirement is wonderful and well worth the wait. I'm so sorry about the bluetits.Jazee, your daughter has forgotten how lucky she is to have you.ASB, I was engaged over 45 years ago and only got rid of the last dinner service plate about two years ago. Well done on chucking your chipped set out and starting afresh.CoG, we all have days/weeks when we're not feeling positive, but if you post when you're a bit down you'll find a lot of support here, which helps turn that sad feeling around much faster. It does sound as though the surgeon was reluctant to operate, so an explanation would have been more helpful than just sounding uninterested. Electric toothbrushes vibrate at exactly the same frequency as bees, so if you're tomato plant is house-bound just hold the toothbrush on the stalky bit behind the flower and it will do the job for you. Tomato flowers are technically self-fertilzing as they have both the male and female requirements within. Just need a bit of vibration - oh er, mrs.Ionafan, sorry to hear about DH's flare up and I hope he's doing better today. *healing vibes* for your knee, and I hope you can get some rest between hospital visits and weddings.GI, I'm so sorry about your allotment plants all being munched by slugs. I fear the wet May may will have encouraged the little blighters to breed excessively. We all love badgers, don't we? You may be pleased to hear that badgers squeal with delight when they come across a slug - they consider them a real delicacy. We need more badgers.Natty, those falls sound really horrible, and very unsettling. If you happen to see your GP again, is it worth asking them to check your balance. *healing vibes*Hi there Dancemum! Lovely to see you again.Fayolle, *healing vibes* for your horrible absess and I hope your dentist is as good a root canal work as mine is.If Mr Pigpen wants an allotment that sounds like a marvellous idea Piggers. I suspect you'll be doing all the organising for him to get one, but it sounds as though he'd love it and it would be marvellous for the girls too.I've finished walking Hadrian's Wall and it was absolutely terrifying in the rain. Everyone was slipping and falling over, trekking poles getting broken left right and centre and I discovered that the only way to get up the challenging climbs is to keeping repeating the mantra, 'Don't look down' and then don't ever look down from the top, and to slide down the steep downs on my plastic trousered derriere. I no longer give a fig for dignity. Distance-wise it wasn't that much as the crow flies but I took four days to do it and only one of them was easy. I also realised that walking on challenging bits in the rain on my own with a very depleted phone battery isn't clever, and that was the first time I've ever felt unsafe. I'm not going to let that happen again.I've now got something that feels like a cold, but my throat feels grim as well. I've tested for C19 and it was negative but the kit expired in mid-January so I'm not sure the result is reliable. Either way I'm not pushing myself for the next few days.Flying-wise, three loads through the WM and out on the line yesterday, still out there, they can wait and I've blitzed the kitchen sink. Not a lot but as much as I'm up to at the moment.Better is good enough.8

Honey Bear glad you’re back safe and sound…I was wondering about you when i was in the shower…having read about you in the rain it seems appropriate.

Glad to hear you're back in one piece, HB x
I have FUPA clean washing, emptied bins, decluttered dead flowers, and remembered to give Rosie her anti-flea treatment. Also checked kennels availability for her (very little).
NNDN came round to apologise for her DS knocking a nail into the bedroom wall to hang a mirror at 8.00am!
DH has been seen by the Saturday consultant and was told that he will be discharged tomorrow. I am still hoping to get to a friend's licensing service in her new parish tomorrow afternoon.
To do today:
- food shopping
- Rosie's walk
- stop off at Merry Hell on the way to the horse piddle to buy some bits and pieces from opposite ends of the shopping mall
- visit DH: I'll go in his car and take a set of clothes for him, just in case the medics have changed their mind - last night they put a 5th bed in the 4-bed ward.
The sun is shining and it looks as if it's going to be a nice day hereIf the sun is with you too, enjoy! If not, stay dry! (except for those of you who are deliberately taking showers
) xxx
