Hello all
went to visit my friend and her husband yesterday, even though i didn’t feel 100%. And i had ‘gas’ yesterday evening.
Anyway now finished sleeve 2 and left front so that’s excellent progress. And am almost at the end of series 2 of Broadchurch.
Been to bring DD back from the garage, her screen washer failed so she’s having it looked at, I suspect, in part, it’s due to the car being stood for months before mum finally agreed to let go. But i’m back in bed for now.
DW x 1 WM x 2. Yesterday stayed fine all day, so i was cross as I have a lot of laundry…

- one report finished and sent off; the second one started and I have emailed the student to apologise for the delay.
- printed off cc bill to set up payment, once I'd beaten the printer into submission (What do you mean you are "offline", I can see your light on.......).
- half a dozen Mum-related messages to/from friends/relatives to attend to. Messaged Mum and she rang me back. Apart from 1 physio, 1 man who took her for a walk (!!), SIL visit, friend's visit, phone call from my step sis, nice lunch: well apart from that she's done nothing all day so is bored!! But a more accepting kind of bored, not despair. And they gave her a shower yesterday, which she'd been desperate for (I didn't point out that they were probably delaying it until they were sure she wouldn't get light-headed in the heat!). They haven't moved her to the 'chatty ladies' ward yet.
- did gym swim and coffee with 'girls'. Gave one lady 4 tomato plants and 3 cucumber plants she wanted so that is less for my greenhouse.
- Mr N's efforts with the fence seem to have been successful, sitting here at my computer I saw a deer in the field at the back of our house. The oilseed rape flowers are almost out, so hopefully that will placate it for a while.
- done some drumming. I think I may take my kit down to Mum's on Thursday so I can do a few more days as it seems like forever. They are electric and portable so I won't upset the neighbours.
- With Mr N, typed up all the postcodes, distances and plans for our holiday next week, assuming we go. I just wanted it straight in my mind.
I think that is it for now. Breathe. I started writing a to-do list for tomorrow and Mr N grabbed it and wrote "don't panic" on the bottom.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
It's quiet on here today.Your mum sounds as if she is doing well Narco. We took a friend for lunch today to the pub we sometimes go to for a drink after the park. The food was ok but nothing special but the bill was ridiculous I thought. We'd just got back and the GP rang to see how A's skin problem is and she agreed to refer him to a dermatologist (which we thought had been done a while ago). He already had a face-to-face booked with a different GP for next week about the issue but she said to go ahead with that anyway. Before supper I stripped the bed and put the bedding on to wash and am now par-drying it ready to go to the laundry tomorrow for ironing. I put on fresh bedding which was a trial as the duvet did not want to go into the cover. You would think by now someone would have invented a better system than duvets and covers or sheets. Made supper and WUPA everything.10

Good evening 😁
We had my school friend's funeral today. There were about a dozen of our "school family" in attendance and it was lovely to see them. I picked up a friend on the way. I left early (7:40) as it was over an hour away & started at 10am, so didn't want to be late. I thought we would have been very early (as, in theory, the roads shouldn't be as busy being half term). However, the roads were horrendous as a roundabout on a major junction was shut. It couldn't be avoided as we had to go that way. It took us about an hour to drive less than 3 miles! After that, it was okay. We arrived at 9:40. The journey home was better.
DD1 has travelled from the east Midlands today and also had a long journey. I don't think I will go far tomorrow!
I got home about 2:30, but haven't done much. I have vac'd the LR, DR & hallway and emptied the vac. I finished knitting the 2nd bootee (I will sew it up tomorrow) & watched the sewing bee. That is about it!
I am shattered now, so will have an early night.
Hugs to all. Night night x9 -
Hi everyone
In the WAC here and suffering with a UTI so I am downstairs on the couch in the kitchen to be near fluids and the downstairs loo without waking anyone else up. Waiting for the Cocodamol that I took at 2am to kick in, at the risk of being a proper wimp I had forgotten how painful this could be!
DB has been here since Sunday and it's been lovely despite the awful weather and despite me feeling a bit anxious at times. Back to the paid stuff on Thursday, but I am trying not to think about that!
Hope everyone else is tucked up in bed having sweet dreams right now, I am off to make a big mug of herbal tea and try to read for a bit.7 -
Morning all xx
Hope you're feeling better soon YL 😘
I'm up, made my bed dressed, packed my lunch, eaten breakfast, completed Wordle and Connections, and I'm supping my brew.
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off for the paid stuff.
Have a good day.

Morning all,
GWS wishes to you, YL x
I have a day off today in honour of going to the dentist later to try to sort out this darn toothache that has been plaguing me for a week. It feels like it’s been longer.
So far I have stripped the bed and remade it, set the wm running and sorted out the clean washing from yesterday. There is an ironing pile which I might tackle later, dependent on the weather. I also need to do HH paperwork x many. So no shortage of jobs, just a shortage of guag.
Tomorrow we have the big bosses coming into work, which will be “fun”, especially as I am back reporting to one of them for the 3rd time in 6 months. I have had enough of this circus, just want to do my job and do it well, without all the flap and posturing.
Any spare posivibes much appreciated for DD who has just started her final exam after many weeks of hard revision. She deserves her planned trip to the pub at lunchtime for sure.
ooohh, must dig something out of the freezer for a dinner creation. Curry, methinks, is on the menu.
Have a lovely day all. I hope all poorlies and carers of poorlies have a good day x6 -
Morning all
Hope you’re improving YL
Not taking the tablets that give me side effects today or tomorrow as we are off to London tomorrow, something horrendous happened last night which i do not want a repetition of. suffice to say the forecast for today is good and i have washing to peg out.
Finished the fronts of the cardi, was going to knit the band but realised i had picked up stitches on the wrong side! Luckily i hadn’t actually knitted. Anyway, might get that done today, then i can put it away until the little girl makes her appearance, once i’ve bought buttons. DD has 10% off at h0bbycraft so might drag her with me to buy wool for my next project.
