  • My Nationwide switch email is dated the same as the ineligible criteria, ie 18/08/21, switch was following month 🤷‍♂️

The wording is that you are excluded if you...
previously benefited from a Nationwide current account switch offer since 18 August 2021
Is your switch email of 18/8/21 merely a confirmation you have set up a switch? Or is it confirming you've just received the benefit (i.e. the money). If it's the former, and you got the benefit afterwards, you got the benefit since 18/8/21 and won't be eligible.

@sparky0138 Hi, you add the last 5 digits of the debit card you are switching into Nationwide (so the debit card for the non Nationwide account you are closing). Sometimes you are asked for the whole debit card number but here they just need the last 5 digits. Hope this helps

I'm quite tempted by this. The Halifax has just upped it's account fee so I'm looking round for a switch to a similar account that offers travel and breakdown insurance. The £13 monthly fee will only save me £1 a month - but the switch incentive looks good.

I've already got a Nationwide no-fee flex account that I use for day-to-day spending, because I like having two accounts just in case there's a problem with one of them. I'm wondering if I go for this switch, will I end up with two Nationwide current accounts (one no-fee and one £13p/m)? If this is the case can I use the no-longer-required no-fee account to switch to another bank - so I'd have two current accounts with different banks?

Nationwide's FlexPlus breakdown cover is actually superior to Halifax Ultimate Reward's as it includes onward travel. I would expect (based on the fact it's been static for over 5 years now) the cost of this account will likely have to rise soon but as long as it stays under £15 I'll be keeping it.
  • I'm trying to complete the form to do the switch but it keeps telling me that the last 5 digits off my debit card are incorrect when they are not :/

Can anyone comment on how robust is Nationwide's tracking/awarding of previous switch offers?

I am surprised that Nationwide should check the debit card of your old account during the switch request. But if they do: is your card perhaps frozen/blocked? Have you entered the correct account number and sort code?

This is the message I keep getting. Account number, sort code, last 5 digits of the card number are all correct! I've done a chat with Nationwide who said that I needed to contact Halifax (who I am switching from).

I've just been on the phone with Halifax who confirmed that I was entering the correct details and they've told me to contact Nationwide :|

Am at a bit of a loss at the minute!

I have got in Dec 2019, Sep 2021 (for joint too), Sep 2022, Nov 2023.  For sure wasn't eligible every year barring not done in 2020

I've had similar, £100 December 2018 (Referred by a friend), £125 September 2021 and £200 x 2 September/October 2023 (Personal and joint account). I won't try again so soon especially as I still have both accounts still open, one of them being flexplus for the insurance so might have to wait till I'm actually eligible by the T's&C's for the next one.
