That's quite a short award and at the moment they are sending review forms out about 8 months before your award is due to end.

OMG, really? I didn't know that. So, when can I expect to be reviewed again?

Maybe around March 2026 but it will depend on how backlogged they are and the process may take many months unless things improve by then. They try to review you before the award runs out (although if that was about to happen they would extend the award pending the review being completed).

I agree with Poppy... it's a sort of shortish award... not super short... but unless you have a compelling case for a longer award it is probably not worth challenging and best put out of mind. The assessment report probably gives an idea on prognosis and it is likely the Decision Maker went with it but adding on probably a year for a review to take place.

That was a fast award. My partner has to wait 7 months in total. Was totally worth the wait though a 5 year award and over £5000+ in backpay.

Hi, I need advice. I got my PIP backpay 2 weeks ago, but I give a thousand to my mate as I owed him some money, now, out of spite, my dad is going to report me to PIP for giving my mate a thousand, I am just wondering, if he does, could I get in trouble with PIP and will they stop my payments because of this? I paid my mate as I just wanted it out of the way as my mate lend me some money to tide me over till I got my PIP. Its stressing me out now this just in case they stop my payments as I only got awarded 2 weeks ago, when my dad said that last night in the text message that he is going to report me for giving a thousand to my mate, I broke down in tears as I don't want to lose this PIP.

Any advice would be great, thank you. I could not sleep with this stress.

PIP is not means tested so you could give it all to a cuckoo clock or save it all and it'd make no difference. You can spent it or give it away as you wish... there are no controls on what you spent it on other than regarding any criminal activity like for anyone. With a parent like that... who needs enemies... tragic that they'd try to get you into trouble over something you can't get into trouble over. It'd be like reporting someone for stealing their own car.

Do you get any income related benefits.. ? You can spend these as you wish too but there can be issue of deprivation of capital by giving money away if it leads to gaining (or retaining) benefits. If savings have never gone above £6000 I wouldn't worry.

I think you need to take a hard look at who and what is in your life... bad websites... bad people... these are clearly affecting your health. I would like to think you had someone close to you that you could trust to relay anxieties to and events in your life... without fear they'll use such to harm you.

Thank you Muttleythefrog. My mate lend me money to tide me over as I was skint, I had no money, so he offered to lend me money for gas, electric, food and bills.

I only get UC, and I got awarded LCWRA yesterday.

Ah yes... I recall that now... so many cases in head with politics in background. Another useful result!

Em... if your savings have never gone above £6k you definitely have no issues... it gets a little more complicated if they ever have for a month. Frankly if you've been borrowing to pay basic costs of living then I assume for some time you've not had much in savings.

Not that I like to advise people on what they should be saying to family... but if you did want a direct response to your father... em...'I've taken advice and they say I can do whatever I like with my PIP money including paying off private debts to friends'
