I have just phoned the automated PIP up, it seems the case manager went with my report as no points were deducted as I am on the higher rate of 737.20 and my first payment is on 15 July, but I will get my back payment this week. I am so happy that case manager went with my report. 🙂 it's such a relief.

Usually by about five working days after the decision.

Thank you. I am getting paranoid that my bank (Barclays) will bounce the large back payment, can this happen? as I have read that many people's pip back payments bounced back. This has got me worried.

Thank you for the update. I’m pleased you got the right outcome.

As a ex-pip assessor I spoke to many people, in desperate need either through their health, or their situation.  PIP is very demanding on the claimant, even just the questionnaire is enough to put people off.

If I was you I’d be proud that you’ve managed this, sure there’s been difficult times, frustrating for all but if you look back the advice given here was solid, factual and based on working knowledge.

Hopefully you will be able to use your PIP wisely, the experience of the form and assessment to move forward.

Thank you Pete and sorry again for posting all the time, in the last few days and weeks. :) could my bank bounce the large PIP back pay back? I have read so many people having issues with banks bouncing back payments, this has got me worried.

No! The bank won’t bounce it.  If the payment has the wrong details then it wont enter your bank, but it’s just the same as you putting a fiver into the bank.

Ok thank you, some people have stated on some forums, not Facebook this time. Will my backpay affect my Universal Credit?

PIP is not classed as income, so therefore should not reduce your UC.
Im not sure about it affecting your capital, general rule of thumb is payment received in an assessment period is not calculated as capital until the end of the next assessment period.  But please don’t take that as 100%.

Ok, thank you Pete. I will have to speak to Universal Credit just to be sure :)
