Hello fly friends.
Wow, Round and Iona, you've both been busy.
Today I have done dailies, walked Poppet, put first wash load on line, second has just finished swishing and I've made a cake for DGD1s birthday party tomorrow. 3 already.
Apparently the shower head needs a clean so I'll do that once I've finished my lunch.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
👋 to iona and Jazee xx
I've eaten lunch with my coffee. Of course it's not raining! Clouds are banked up and it's cold indoors...so I've put my heating on (it'll help to get the washing dry 😊). If it stays dry I'm going out at 1pm to dig up some weeds.
Having a lunch break now though.

Ooooo.
Went out to start weeding front border armed with my new garden fork and a bucket to collect the weeds in. Managed 20 minutes and cleared a triangle between the gate and the drive. Not perfect, but better than it was. But. Oh dear. I was so lightheaded when I stood up. Probably was OK for the first 15 minutes and then woah. 😵 Not spinny dizzy just 'not with it' light headed. Felt most peculiar. Too much upping and downing methinks. I'll just do 10 minutes at a time in future and build up my stamina.
Still, one bucket of weeds removed from border. Wiped down the fork, and put it away.
Finished reading my book and added it to cs pile.

I have worked in short bursts all day. If it's gone, it's done, or else I decided that it (QHI) just wasn't worth the effort:
- keep loading and emptying the WM until everything is clean, and hang out to dry in the warm breeze - one load left to do overnight, but it will have to go in the TD as thunderstorms are forecast for tomorrow in this region
- dust downstairs - I shall have time before breakfast, and DH has already hoovered through and cleaned his ensuite
- get as much as possible prepped for tomorrow's lunch - DS1 is cooking the jacket potatoes, the cakes are finished, and I only have to cook sausages and wash/prep salad and strawberries. The DGC can lay the table and move chairs.
I'm hoping to get to church in the morning, but might not make it. Off to bed very soon, as I am very tired.

Morning all
Remember how I said about our plans to spruce up the garden? Well we have worked really hard and made a big difference ready for family visiting today, and it's going to rain on and off all day with a high of 14 degrees. It really doesnt matter as hopefully I get both my boys and my brother here which I am so happy about!
Anyone heard from @Cloth_of_Gold, hope A is OK, thinking of you if you are around but not posting x
I had to throw the clean utility room rug in the WM last night as the dog peed on it. I was working for DH yesterday and that was the sum total of my Flying!
So today, quiches to make, quick hoover around, folding table to set up, ham to slice, crumble to make and laundry to take off the airer and put away. DS2 needs collecting from the station at some point and bedrooms need checking ready for DS and DB to stay tonight.
Hope it's a peaceful Sunday all x8 -
Morning all xx
I cba going the long way round to town (road closed) so I nipped to Mr C00p and bought wine and chocolate for S. I've texted her to wish her a happy birthday. I'll write the card, wrap the presents, and pop over later this morning. Must remember to take Pop's present too.
I'm up, made my bed, brought down wrapping paper, completed Wordle and Connections (tweezy today. Sadistic setter's day off?), and I'm supping my first brew.
It's raining here. Hope it's fine where you are.

Dropping in half asleep.
Mum is doing very well and is on a rehab ward. Her walking is progressing but *s law it is a bank holiday weekend so seemingly no physio for 3 days which is annoying. Terrible day on Friday as she is in a side room - the only one available at the time - and while it has en suite and a window she can see a tree and birds, she is very lonely and bored, not to mention frustrated with her progress ( which everyone else thinks is incredible). As an undiagnosed but undoubtedly ADHD, she has never sat still for more than 20mins in her life, so to be in bed unless someone helps you up and to be uncoordinated if you try to read, eat or try to use a radio or tablet is torture for her let alone as she can't see anyone. Staff are aware she's not the usual 92 Yr old stroke patient! I'm hoping a space may arise on a ward so she can people watch and talk to others. Yesterday Mr N, BIL and I were able to explore the hospital with her in a wheelchair and her friends are now able to visit.
I've been spending most of the time when I'm not at the hospital-which isn't much - making phone calls, answering messages etc to update friends, relatives etc as well as the vagaries of living in her house on my own so I'm mostly exhausted. But I mustn't moan, I've had a couple of lovely swims to unwind as beach is 10mins walk.
Flying needed today as I'm going home for a few days to regroup, get more clothe/contact lenses etc. One of my many lists says empty fridge, hoover, pack, empty bins, wash up, strip bed, sort out clean clothes for Mum when I visit at 11, so generally make the place look as if I haven't been here. I've set up a rota of friends to visit her. I've cancelled work on Wednesday as I have 2 reports to finish and I need to check my own garden, house etc.
Anyway enough rambling so thanks for your support.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -

gotsome washing line. dried yesterday, looking at the forecast that may be it for a week or so.
Have rediscovered my knitting mojo, Have knitted a baby cardi back and a sleeve. Need to sew buttons on completed cardi and post.
Ater this i’m going to knit a jumper for myself, one of the crochet kadies is using a lovely wool so i’m going to go for that, the pattern is one i bought when i first started knitting and i did like it. So last knitted about 40 years ago!
Went to do cleaning at work yesterday, then came home and showered. The DD and I food shopped. Today i’ve got the aged Ps for sunday lunch. Mum is pre diabetic so i’m taking DDs advice. basically though it’s feed her and keep her built up, most of the time they’re on ready meals. oh and no-one is supposed to know she’s pre-diabetic. !!!!!!

Card and presents taken to S. Coffee and long chat with P, whilst S entertained her friend, A.
Finished the book I started yesterday and added it to cs pile. (Stayed up reading til midnight last night.) Knitted a few more rows of the pram blanket. Cleared more weeds from the front border....and was careful to bring my head up slowly, and to stop when I'd had enough. Two more buckets of weeds cleared. Bindweed AND goosegrass. Bye bye.
