Hi all
Busy day off. Went for a facial, called at Li@l, came home and threw myself into shovelling and barrowing gravel to top up the patchy bits in the back garden. Thankfully DS came over to help or I think I would still be doing it now. Laundry up to date and house tidyish.
DH has been put in the ESA support group which means he gets £138 a week but can't do any work. There are decisions to make about his business and where we go from here. It will be OK.
It's cold and drizzly. I am helping DH with a fair tomorrow then we have family visiting.7 -
quiet day, have knitted though I did clean DR which i would describe as my most minging room, window was grim, i think the cat dribbles on it somehow.

Morning all xx
Had a steady day at work. Phone went a bit mental at 3pm....people suddenly realising not only is it the weekend coming up, but it's a Bank Holiday weekend? Drove home and flumped. I was soooo tempted to order in pizza and chips, but willpower kicked in and I had a calorie counted pizza from the freezer instead. I'll be glad I did on Monday morning. Well, I hope I will 🤞 More mse too.
Changed into my scruffs and unpacked my lunch bag. Knitted more of the pram blanket. Still on the garter stitch border. Going to have to really concentrate when I get to the pattern itself. 32 rows of pattern. But no sewing up to do at the end. 😊
Today? I'm up, made my bed, brought down the laundry hamper, taken my meds, completed Wordle and Connections, and I'm supping my brew.
Where's CoG? Hope all is well xx
A bit of overwhelm sitting on me this morning. The garden is romping away from me. DS said he'll help, but he's in Poland this weekend. I need to concentrate on sorting out the front first - before I get complaints! It's S's birthday tomorrow so I need to nip to Mr T this afternoon/ evening to buy wine /chocolate / smellies / a combination thereof. Not going any earlier as it's Farmers' Market today and town will be rammed this morning. Must remember to go the long way round as the road is closed. Again. Plus there's the usual weekend catchup of at least the basics to do.And I need to do something with the abandoned bird box' contents.
Too much 'needing' going on for my sanity. Precarious at the best of times 🤪
Brew 2 first and then I'll be back with a Round. Baby steps today methinks. One step at a time.
Love to all.

Brew 2 supped and breakfast eaten. I unboxed some cans of pop while the kettle was boiling...more room in the fridge now.
Round 1
Get dressed
Splosh bleach down the loo
Feed the birds
Put out the rubbish and recycling
Put new bin bags in bins
Sort washing into loads
Set first load swishing
That'll do for starters

Empty shredder
Put bag of shredded paper in recycling box
Pour away ood Baileys & recycle bottles
That'll take care of the basics and a few niggling bits.

I've also wiped down the draining board, kitchen worktop that I can, and cooker top.
Oh, and I've found a home for the large multipack of crisps that I bought at Mr Al. So that's not cluttering up the worktop.
Round 3
Peg out first load
Unbox strimmer
Put strimmer together (that's an assumption based on the size of the box 😊)
Read instructions

Morning all.
Round, I see you have been busy this morning! Like you, I've been wondering why we haven't heard from CoG recently - but IIRC they were due to go out for a meal on (?)Wednesday, so maybe still relaxing.
Yesterday I did nearly an hour's work in the garden, so I'm feeling the bad effects today. Unfortunately there is more to be done.
I did manage to make some shortbread biscuits and 2 coffee sponges, but woke up in the middle of the night realising that I needed to make another coffee cake and some fruit cakes, so I started doing that at 8.00 this morning - having already stripped my bed and started the WMToday's cakes are now cooling, I've made the butter icing, WUDUPA everything I'm not actually using, tidied the kitchen, and wrapped up DS2's birthday present (a ParkRun wristband). I told DH that I would need his help with hoovering this afternoon (his response was, "But I did it on Friday!" - yes, but Rosie is moulting and I've been baking!!!) and that he must give his ensuite a good scrub after he's had his shower....
Also to do today as a minimum:
- finish the cakes
- keep loading and emptying the WM until everything is clean, and hang out to dry in the warm breeze
- dust downstairs
- plant up the pots on the decking
- QHI of pillowcases
- put the clean dry bedding back on my bed
- write DS2's birthday card
- get as much as possible prepped for tomorrow's lunch.
Will report back later. Have a restful weekend xxx5 -
Round 3 abandoned. Large black cloud appeared so I checked the weather forecast first. Apparently it's going to rain all weekend and then all week. That'd be right! Half term hols!!!
Anyhoo. I've draped the washing on the airer instead. I've opened the box and read the instructions for the strimmer- glad I did as once it's been mantled it can't be dismantled again. (Is mantled a word?). Can't use it in the rain so it might as well stay boxed for now. Ditto lawn mower.
Coffee now. Join me?
