how long to get switch bonus after switching the account?
    From the terms:

  • I recently applied for the recent switch over to Santander £175 offer. I just need to add two Direct Debits, etc. However I have received an email from them asking for proof of ID. Without this I will not be able to do online banking or Mobile banking. I believe I can still set up my Direct Debits and pay £1,500 into the account. Has anyone here not bothered registered for online banking with Santander.
it doesnt seem worth it for a temporary switch.
    Am i missing something?
    Thanks.

    From September 2008 - Wepromiseto £133.19, Greasypalm £46.16, Quidco £519.78, Cashback Kings £74.54. Vouchers £31.00. myhpf £21.03
Topcashback £159.72 Matchbetting £24.70 MORTGAGE FREE END OF JULY 2015 (YIPPEE!)
    Bank Switching £640.00

Is the request for ID purely for accessing online banking, or is it in order to actually open the account? In either case, how are you planning to get your money back out of the account without online banking? Personally I wouldn't be happy putting a large sum into an account I have minimal access to.

Otherwise there's no actual requirement to register for online banking, so there'd be no reason you couldn't do what you propose.

When we discussed this last week you said you were going to wait for the debit card and PIN for your new Edge account to arrive before deciding what to do next. Have these arrived?

Thaks for the reply. After posting this I decided to attempt to apply for online banking to see what would happen. After filling in the online form I received a message stating that I would receive log on details in the post in the next 4 to 6 working days.
I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens once those details arrive.

Quite frustrating that there is no mention of needing ID until after you set off the switching process.

    Hello,
Yes the card and PIn arrived. I am now just waiting for the log on details that will (hopefully) allow me to log on to online banking. Santander state they will arrive later this week.
As I said in an earlier post Santander claimed that I would need to send them ID to do online banking. So I will have to see what happens once I receive those details.

  • Opened an Edge via QuidCo, got the current account card but no login details yet so can't open the saver.
Going to use the 2 x DDs one month and £500 the following month trick from danny13579 to beat the fee.
I'm assuming I can pay straight into the Saver without going through the Current so we'll see!
QuidCo have let me down though, not even showing as tracking 😥

Can you explain what this Danny13579 trick is please?
