Account opened, finally got log on details, transferred £1500, opened saver and moved £1500 in to it.
Now to wait 31 days and setup 2 DDs.
No more deposits into the current > £500 a month.
    Let's see if it works!

I opened an account and my Quidco is tracking, I always use an alternative browser (and clear the browsing data each time) to do Quidco though as my main browser has an ad blocker which can obviously throw a spanner in the works!

One thing that does grind my gears about certain banks and doing so many switches is the amount of paperwork through the post, so far Santander have sent 5 out (fair enough one is the card), and looks like they'll be sending another once the switch has happened to confirm that fact rather than just sending a text or email (actually they'll probably just send those on top!)

Never switched before and thinking this is the best option for me...would the 'transfer £1500' come under the full switch from my old account? Same with DD's? I have a load that would transfer over, do those count as the 2?

Apologies if this is a stupid question. I already have several Santander accounts including one Joint Edge account (and linked 7% saver, plus mortgage), I'd like to open another switching from a 3rd Chase account and do the 'hack' to obtain the 7% savings account without paying the £3 charge.
What link in online banking do I have to click to do this? When I am logged in and click 'current accounts' it gives me the option to either 'Apply', or 'change existing account' (which I don't want to do).
Is 'Apply' correct, just want to check I'm not missing something before I spend the time putting all my details in (which they obviously already have...).

I thought I could have two Edge accounts, one joint and one single, so was hoping to open a single one and switch in the Chase account but perhaps I can only do it if I don't already have an Edge account. (I didn't get a switch reward when I opened the Joint one, just converted an existing 123 account last year). I will read the small print for existing customers again! Thanks!

Yes, you need to apply for a new Edge account and then do the switch hack to avoid paying the monthly fee. Don't forget to then downgrade any other Edge accounts you might have so you don't pay the fees anymore (unless they pay cashback and you want to keep them!)

Thanks. I'm happy paying the fee on our joint account as we get £15-20 cashback a month and we each have our own Edge saver too. But definitely will be trying to avoid it for the new one. Great that I can just click Apply, hopefully I will be able to get the Quidco cashback too.

Yes they would count but it means you won't avoid the £3 monthly fee which is what I'm trying to do!

Thanks - this would probably be my main account so I dont mind the fee as I'd be interested in seeing how much I get back through the 1% cashback etc etc

If you think you will have over £300 per month in qualifying payments between direct debits and debit card purchases then it's probably worth triggering the £3 fee.
