I'm doing this through CASS and I know the existing DDs will transfer across, but do the qualify or do I have to set up 2 new ones?
Thanks everyone.
Whether you set them up on the Santander account or they carry over as part of the switch makes no difference.

I missed out on the previous deal. I would like to set up an Edge account for the 7% saver. But I'm thinking of opening a joint account for me and my husband as we don't have a joint account yet, and then we'd both have all our main bills in there.
Can I open a joint account and then switch a single current account into the joint account? I tried asking customer service, but I'm not sure if they really understood my question, hah.
Also don't actually know if I've had a switching bonus before. I know I had a credit card with them and still hold a savings account. So we'll see if I'm eligible.0 -

Hi folks, my wife and I have a Santander joint account that we've had for years. No switching bonus was paid on that.
Can we now open individual accounts and switch to them to get this bonus? E.g being an existing customer isn't an issue? (Pretty sure not but doubting myself)
Second question, I read you have to go into branch if an existing customer (crazy!). Is there no way we could do it online?
TIAA big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -

And yes, make sure to do an individual switch each. That way you each get the rewards (ie. 2x £175) instead of just one reward payment for switching into the joint account.

Opened an Edge via QuidCo, got the current account card but no login details yet so can't open the saver.
Going to use the £1500 one month and 2 x DDs the following month trick from danny13579 to beat the fee.
I'm assuming I can pay straight into the Saver without going through the Current so we'll see!
QuidCo have let me down though, not even showing as tracking 😥0 -

It won't work if you do it the other way around.
Yes, you can pay straight into the saver and withdraw from it too. It has its own sort code and account number.
I'm not as familiar with Quidco as I am with Top Cashback, but after checking Quidco you need to open a claim within 45 days of opening your account through them.1
