Sorry Natty. Hope you are ok.Piggers, hope you are pleased with your nails. This morning I took a bag of recycling down, bought the paper, posted a couple of things at the little PO and then walked to the bigger shops and back (about 2 miles) to collect the new duvet cover, which I'd ordered on click and collect and the flip flops (ditto). I came back and made lunch and WUPA the breakfast and lunch things, administered eye drops and helped him with his salt water rinse which he has to do twice a day for 5 days, according to the dentist. A then went for a nap and I took the opportunity to de-clutter some emails and then clean the kitchen, including bleaching the sink and washing-up pads and wiping down the bin. One good thing about this warm weather is that the floor dries in a jiffy. I then washed a pair of slippers (the instructions said you could) and made myself a coffee. A has been sleeping since lunchtime so I need to get him up now as he is in danger of missing on out on his cup of tea and he is overdue for eye drops.Did anyone have a go at my crossword clue by the way?5

CoG it was beyond me. I struggle with anagrams and with cryptic clues.
WM and DW locked and loaded. Evening shower has as was dripping while cleaning at work. All washing off maiden and maiden away. Vacuumed round inc, bedroom as bed changed.

A slightly bizarre day. Having ended yesterday with a great drum lesson, a fantastic lake swim and a bit more report written, I noticed as I got ready for bed that one eye was sore/itchy, which I put down to hay fever - there seemed to be a bit of a white spot on my lower eyelid. After not too brilliant a night's sleep as it was hot (the weather not the eye), I woke feeling a bit gritty but had my usual half a loratidine tablet and hay fever eye drops. Looked at eye and there was a definite white 'pimple' which was itchy but sore if I poked it (yeah, don't!). Fretted a bit and took another half tablet at about 10am. By 10.30 the pimple had got bigger and by 11 it had a friend and was really irritating every time I blinked. Ick. Decided that getting sweaty in Body Step wouldn't help it, so cancelled. A bit concerned, I rang the GP surgery (expecting a lecture on wild swimming or suchlike) and the receptionist said the doctors and nurse were all fully booked, but if I could get there within 15 mins there was a paramedic. Well how helpful, and what a delightful man - the lovely gentle nature of that dishy consultant in Casualty from years back (played by Clive Mantle!). He decided it wasn't hay fever or swimming, but 2 styes. He didn't ban me from swimming tomorrow although agreed it may be a good idea to leave contact lenses for a few days, and told me to hot compress it/them. It was just like a whitehead - after the 2nd hot compress (3hrs apart) the big one subsided and the little one doesn't seem to have developed. I was just so impressed with the surgery giving me an appt at 20mins notice.
Anyway, I spent much of the rest of the day gardening in my photochromic glasses, although what with the week's exercise and not enough sleep last night I wasn't exactly speedy. However we got a lot done. I think this short paragraph is my flying.
On the admin front it's one thing after another. My pension from my previous college, which I've been getting for a few years and has been very consistent, has suddenly been paid 2 days earlier than usual and halved, so I'll have to get on the website and see what's going on. The tiny pension I've been arguing about from uni for the last 11 months seems to be making progress, mainly because as they hadn't been able to come up with a prediction/statement of what I will get, I have just emailed and told them I am a 'leaver' with immediate effect so would they please record that on the system and get it moving. Today I had emails from 3 different members of HR and the pension scheme so seems like that has done the trick. It's no wonder I never make time for flying; I'm too busy chasing up incompetent admin systems (apart from GPs of course).

Carpenter??Well done - it's a good one, isn't it? He gave me another good one, which I'll post tomorrow.Sorry to here about your eye Narco but great that you were able to get good advice so quickly and that it is on the mend.Stripped the bedding and washed and dried it and put on fresh bedding. Made supper and WUPA everything and did eye drops, helped A with his salt water mouth rinse. Just his breakfast things to put out now.

Good morning all xx
CoG - I Googled the answer so couldn't claim dibs on it. I don't like mysteries. How did we manage before Google?
I'm up, made my bed, brought down the laundry hamper, sorted washing into loads, set first load swishing, phoned through my repeat prescription, completed Wordle (easy) and Connections (sadistic setter but I got there eventually with no lives to spare), and I'm supping my first brew.
The sun is out. The sky is blue. My honeysuckle is glorious and scenting the back garden. And it's weeeeekeeeennnd...
Brew 2 is required.

Brew 2 is being supped.
I forgot that the Northern Lights were predicted to be visible last night 😭 I was in bed. Asleep. Gutted. Apparently they're going to be visible again tonight. So I'll be staying up late then.
While the kettle was boiling I've stocked up my fridge with cans of pop and put the cardboard aside for recycling.
Round 1
Get dressed
Peg out the washing
Set second load swishing
Feed the birds
Fill the birdbath
Put out the rubbish and recycling
Put new bin bags in bins
WUDUPA
If it gets twot that'll be it. My knitting awaits - it's like knitting lace. Very satisfying but I have to concentrate. And there's always a book on the go.

Morning all.
Enjoy your annual leave, round x
I too missed the Northern Lights, but I'm not sure that they were visible this far south and west. Maybe tonight.
We are off out at 9.15 until the early afternoon with K and the girls - by then I shall be shattered, hot and sticky!
I have hoovered through downstairs, very quickly, and put away last night's WU. DH is supposed to be getting breakfast, but no sign of it happening just yet. I live in hope...

i missed them as well. DD had trips booked d to view them when she was in Iceland but the weather was against them and they didn’t make it. i’ll consider setting an alarm tonight.
Three loads through WM.
i’ve just spotted that the buzzing thing in the bedroom is a bee so I will have to help it out…
Right, it’s out.
Done Wordle in 3. Still working on connections.
Hope everyone has a good weekendDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
