After six months the Vivotion V2001 treadmill I bought from Kybotech developed a fault. When I contacted their after sales team last week and reported the error code it was judged to be impractical to service due to my remote location. I was offered a complete refund which was processed immediately. I cannot fault their service.

They did not want the old device returned?

Not even just to see what was wrong with it?

    Out of interest: -
    * what fault did it develop?
    * What postcode or area of the country do you live in?

When the treadmill stopped working I looked on the internet to identify the error code. The search led me to the Money Saving website and this forum, (which along with the fact that I live in the far south west, understandably, the end of the line for all consumer services) I was not
inspired for the next step of getting in touch with the after sales department. However following a couple of e mails between me and their Logistics Administrator I was sent this response -
“I cant find a way of collecting your goods for an inspection, this leaves me with no other option than to ask you to dispose of the faulty goods and in return I will either arrange for replacement goods to be sent out to you or alternatively I can arrange for the refund of your monies.
Can you please advise how you would like to proceed”
I registered yesterday to make my point of view known because whatever has gone on in the past with other customers, for me , on this item at this time, my dealings with Kybotech have been prompt and courteous.

    Do you on the Scillies?

If not I'm amazed DHL or UPS can't get that far down
It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical

Come on people, I thought that in this country you were innocent until proved guilty? :o

Have you googled this item, it's obsolete, I could only find Woolworths (!) selling it for £160. Write it off with the hope of keeping a satisfied customer that may spend again? It's not inconceivable.

True, if it was my company I would think more about replacing it rather than refunding, but does anyone have any proof that DaBl (and everyone else that posts a positive interaction) is Kybotech in disguise?

Did you get a free delivery on your initial purchase from them?

Incidentally, what was the "error code" that you got? You do not seem to have answered my question "what fault did it develop". I am interested as I got one of these at a knockdown price from Woolies just befor they went under - how much did you pay for yours and how much did the delivery cost you in the SW?

Spammy - the treadmill when turned on would not go and displayed the error code e21, when it failed to reset I assumed it had an electronic fault , even if I did have the code list, or was told, anything other than ‘reset’ wouldn’t mean much to me. I can’t find the receipt but I remember it had been reduced and delivery wasn’t too much. The refund covered all I had been charged. As for what I paid (for a bottom of the range cheap and cheerful walker) I’m not telling you, other than you seem to have a bargain. Good luck with your Woolies machine, I hope yours goes a lot further than mine.
Reggie Rebel - I’m not quite on the Isles of Scilly but I wasn’t amazed that a service was impractical here. The further one goes from the centres of population the thinner any services get spread out. When questioned this isn’t denied and the answer to people down this way is “it’s the price you pay for living down there” That seems fair to me.

Grey-me - I hadn’t thought of it but you are probably right --
“Write it off with the hope of keeping a satisfied customer that may spend again? It's not inconceivable.” -- if that is part of customer services I don’t have a problem with it.
“True, if it was my company I would think more about replacing it rather than refunding” --- no refund option from you then.
The rest of your posting has me beat - I am well aware of how dubious and underhanded the human race can be in taking money from each other, but how to prove that I’m not a Kybotech secret agent?. The best I can come up with is a photograph of the treadmill in question which is outside in the rain awaiting disposal . I suspect that that alone wouldn’t prove much to you - no problem for a conspiracy to fake or pose.
So my final word on this matter is that it must be up to anyone who logs onto this forum to make their own minds up - whether I’m just a customer who wants to give credit where it’s due, or as you see it - I’m in the secret plot with everyone else who disagrees with your viewpoint
