THIS IS THERE COMPAY NAME KybotechsDeleted User wrote: »Just had to warn people of the company before anyone else bought from them. They are mentioned in quite a few messages/threads, one of which can be found here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=479453&highlight=kybotech . No review-type website has anything good to say about them. You do of course get the odd individual who seems to have had a reasonable experience, but I hasten to add, they probably have been very lucky and/or not had dealings with the customer service (or lack of it) side of things.
They do not specifically go under the name Kybotech (BEWARE!), but these: http://www.kybotech.co.uk/ConsumerRetailBrands
I have had the misfortune to have dealt with them first hand. Once for an expensive 'Walton' shed (that I regret, both with the experience I had with getting hold of the correct parts and the build quality) and a set of garden furniture - which I subsequently cancelled due to excess charges they wanted for delivery (the shed I had was a lot larger - 12' x 10' and heavier, but no extra charge required there)
Before I go, check these out:
I have now finally removed the 3 links today (05 Jul 08) for the reasons mentioned below. Make up your own mind, as on MSE you get a true cross-section of consumers - most of the time.....
I have just checked these links today (24 May 08). It's amazing, through the time this thread has progressed, how many people have made comments about how fantastic Kybotech have become! It must be said that the majority have only ever posted one comment since joining that particular forum (which I find rather strange) and they are all dated from around the same time. I would hate to think it would have something to do with the fact that when Kybotech is 'Googled' this thread is third from the top of the first page. Quite interesting really. One last thing. Before this thread was created there was very little in the way of ' Kybotech Comments' in the above-mentioned sites - now there are lots and lots - mostly positive. I'll leave you to decide why.

I've never bought from Kybotech but I've been intrigued by this sorry saga. It reminds me of other companies especially where the boss is an IT/web resource but also seems to run a retail business as some sort of afterthought - Nettexmedia & Redsave come to my mind.
If you google Kybotech you'll see the usual guff from Charles Walton about how it's one of the top 100 companies in the UK. Blah blah blah. What you won't see are complaints unless you click through the pages. Some very clever search engine optimisation going on there.
Where does the blame for this bad service lie? It lies solely with Mr Walton. The website for the Kybotech is created by his web company: https://www.ecwsolutions.com
Therefore the remit for the software showing items in stock lies with Mr Walton. If the website shows stock and you are told that stock is not present then again that is Mr Waltons responsibility because he controls both the retail operation and the net operation.
Getting one time posters to post positive reviews on here was certainly a put-your-foot-in-it moment. How often do we see manipulation backfire? Sometimes it's far better to let sleeping dogs lie and the threads will slowly fall off the radar. The man without a signature.0 -

This company is a crap. I ordered a very expensive treadmill and had lots of problem with the delivery.

Its what you call creative advertisement. As they monitor most of the review sites (and the like), when a negative review brings their 'star' rating down below four, four and a half, miraculously some reviewers come in and put positive reviews, bringing it back up. It is obvious if you know what to look for in the history and fine details. This company stands head and shoulders above any other at this sort of thing.0 -
If you wish to avoid kybotech then don't use the following websites
gardenbuildingsdirect.co.uk
kyatu.co.uk
gardencentredirect.co.uk/
flamingbarbecues.co.uk/
simplyfitnessequipment.co.uk/
outdoortoysdirect.co.uk/
simplygardenfurniture.co.uk/
these are all websites run and built by kybotech and ecw solutions so expect the same shoddy service from all of them0 -
Unfortunately, by the time I discovered this forum it was too late. I'm forever reading mse but never posting! I placed an order with Garden Buildings Direct on 29th March for a Mad Dash Lollipop Playhouse. The delivery time stated was 2-5 days and as this was a special Easter pressie for my children, I thought great, Easter is 2 weeks away - plenty of time!
I could find no reviews on Google and as the reviews on their website were good, I went ahead. I received order confirmation, and then emails saying that the item was delayed - due to high demand! I rang customer services, who I have to say, were always sympathetic and polite. They did not however, offer any solutions, or ensure me that I would receive my goods in time. I was told that I should not go by the delivery time on the internet - as this is not guaranteed! (why put it on there?) I made quite a few calls, but frankly, gave up in the end - I had a hunch I would not be receiving the playhouse in time. Finally, 2 weeks 3 days later, I received a call saying it was being delivered. The playhouse arrived on the day agreed by a friendly driver, and from there on everything went smoothly. The playhouse is great and we had no problems putting it together. The quality of the product is good and it's great value for money. I am adding this post so that people know that you still can't rely on the dates. My family was quite upset that it wasn't delivered in time for Easter. Just to say, order well in advance -then you might not be disappointed!!!!0 -
That old chestnut, high demand, I assume they wait till they have enough orders and then produce them in the factory to fulfil outstanding orders. Its long been reported in this forum about their advertised lead times which always need to be taken with a pinch of salt.
and yes, as [Deleted User] rightly says they do filter their online reviews and only ever put on 4 or 5 star reviews, so don't believe all you read on a sales web site.0 -
I am interested to see whether this summer is going to be different for Kybotech regarding customer satisfaction & delivery times. Somehow I don't think so. More 5-star service on the way me thinks (according to them of course) ...................0
