Garden wall idea.

Oooo lovely, like the flags and the bricks. Very classy in a country sort of way because it shows imagination combined with skill.I know what you mean about the pad. Would've been nice but once you have stuff growing you probably won't mind.I've got one out front but I had to fight tooth and nail for it. Men seldom do athesetics.

When the sun comes round I'll get a straight-on shot. Had my first walk down them there now to feed the birds, and while they look a bit tall they feel ok
I decided last night that if the little wooden barrier was to go, it won't look like it doesn't fill the pad. I'll think of something to do round the bottom of it that bleeds into whatever it is in going in the 2 patches in front of it. More pintrest scouring todayI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.0 -
Not entirely sure what we're talking about here but if it's at the bottom or surrounding what about creeping Camomile or Lemon Thyme?I'd be inclined to wait and use, gaze and see what seems right.Always fun to look at Pintrest/Images though

Finished steps. I was waiting on the sun coming out but it’s cool and showery here now so -Can you see the bit at the front now 2p? That’ll be absorbed into the garden I think, get a path coming off the bottom step to wind its way through the garden/grass. The bit of space at the bottom of the wall will have toadflax all along it. Mixed with creeping camomile when I find someI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5

It is lovely Bluey, between you a really interesting garden area.Yup I see it now. I wouldn't worry too much, you'll find a way to use it as it developes. Not suggesting this because it wouldn't go with your lovely soft effect but something to get your teeth into. What about some uplighting mixed in with the plants you are probably putting in the gap? There are all sorts. I got these locally and they last for years it seems.Kingavon garden solar lights (ebay £2 ea). They are almost invisible. Meant for a path I thinkbut I have them under plants and such. Just a thought to get your creative juices flowing, below the wall to illuminate it if you go that way in winter.

Ooh interesting, I never thought of lights in the garden. I had hedgehogs in my last garden because they liked the dark. I don't think there are any round here though, I've a bluddy great lamp post outside the fence and both neighbours have solar lights galore so I doubt I'll get any anyway.
We can't decide what to do with the concrete bed round the bottom of the wall/steps. Himself wants patio laid right up to it, but I'd rather have that bit spare for toadflax and other pretty plants. I don't mind patio right up to the bottom of the steps and keep the wall bottom open, but he thinks it should all be the same. There are too many brilliant ideas out there, it's hard to pick one...
We've no rush to decide at least, Bob the Builder has gone to Sweden "for a bit".I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.2 -
Nope, some plants in that gap...Thymes, lavenders whatever otherwise it could look like a car parkI have flood lights from the courts on one side but it's surprising under plants. So Bob's fled then? You must have worked him to hard - or he's waiting till you've both agreed

Aye Bob's gone, he was only here for the weekend. I might have to just agree with himself to get the show back on the road
But not about the patio being right up to the wall. That's just wrong.

Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens3 -
It's lucky you should say that because a kind soul sent me some toadflax
I've shown him pictures of what it'll look like and he's agreed on no patio up to the wall
