Don't forget to vote
One Step at a Time
Don't overwhelm yourself
by trying to take on everything at once.

get where you want to be in life
Be kind to yourself today

I was awake and had my pills before 6 am, showered and washed my hair (it's fluffy now) then wrote today's positives. I looked for my 'body scan' exercise then realised it's on my old e-mail and of course I couldn't remember which variant of my password it uses. I ate 2 nectarines (they were in my room) and had bacon and tomatoes when I came downstairs. (should have been beans on toast but the toast loaf had gone mouldy).
Went to vote (in the church for the first time, using their new 'community space' - it was only part done last time I went there for a funeral). I'd intended carrying on to little Arseda to check out the ys fruit and veg but changed course and crossed the road to go to the community shop. A £2 joining fee and I bought 6 ready meals, 4 mini 'no-pork' pies, 2 cabbages, 3 pak choi, a cucumber, a bag of mushrooms and a 'catering pack' of salad leaves, a large plain yoghurt + a free loaf (wholemeal toastie) for a grand total of £6, So that's something crossed off on my long-time to do list.
Came home and DS3 had gone to bed so I zapped a rm, had a posh ice cream ice lolly for afters (could have got more at the community shop) and spread out on the couch. I've filled 3 takeaway carrier bags with assorted detritus, set off a load of washing and packed one box for moving (and labelled and listed 3 more). Was going to move across to the book shelves when DS3 came down, so I'm now back upstairs (so grateful to take my shoes off). Will do more boxes, once my leg has had a good stretch.
As it's a spend day I may order some fruit and veg plants (found a site yesterday based at a farm in Lancashire and they've given me 20% off for 48 hours). Just have to whittle down my 'wants' to something more realistic - I've missed out on seed sowing for brassicas and tomatoes etc but still have lots of time to set off peas and beans. Just need to work my way through. Some of the collections are the best value and as I only want one or two courgettes/ aubergines/ hot peppers etc I'll mix and match to see what suits me.
Yesterday was also a spend day. I've been looking at duvet covers for a while (I bought new sheets, towels and pillowcases but made myself wait for duvet covers and bedspreads) and decided that I'd put the last one in my basket on Tuesday night. It was already heavily discounted but because I waited until yesterday they sent me a code for another 20% off.
Grateful for time to rest my back and legs, feeling more organised and in control, a warm dry day but not oppressively hot.8 -
Are you moving @grandmanerd ?Work today, and nothing spent, so NSD 1 for May. Tomorrow will be a spend day as I have to go to the dentist first thing before work.Horrible weather here, a thunderstorm during the night and cold and intermittently raining today
So wish it would improve - I wore my thermals to work today. I almost didn't, as it is May after all, but the thought of all day in a damp old building without heating was enough to persuade me! I shall definitely wear it again tomorrow too.
Walked down to the community centre to vote after work. OH went earlier with the dog, who was apparently making friends with the staff and the votersOH is cooking tonightOnly jacket potato, salad and ham, but I don't have to do it

I’m not sure I could cope with getting up at 5am … 😭 (I’d shift my sleep pattern but am restricted by what time OH would be willing to go to bed - he already stays up later than I can really cope with ….)
Any thoughts on this at all, as I gather you’ve done TAW a few times already?KKI'm 3 weeks in at the moment! Personally I would say write whatever you can in the morning, even if it's just a paragraph, whatever fits into your routine. I am sure even 10-15 mins would be enough to kick start the habit, then if you have more time at the weekends you could aim to write more then? perhaps @ditty1234 has some further insight xx

Evening turtles, its been a long day here! Woke up during the night because of the rain, I actually find it quite relaxing to listen to a proper downpour.
Got out for a walk first thing and went into the local church to vote on my way. Had a quick online meeting and then had to drive to Bristol. Made sure I brought coffee and lunch with me. The journey home was dire, took about 4 hours altogether, I did stop off for a coffee but that was it. I also had to top up with petrol before the journey home so spent there too. I usually spend much more when I do that journey so at least I didn't need to today. I also used my blue light card to get a discount for the coffee.
Got a letter for a gastroscopy in a few weeks, it's come through quite quickly so can't complain although not looking forward to it.
OH is out with friends tonight so I'm curled up on the sofa with my book, where I plan to stay until bedtime.Save £2,400 tuition fees - £2,321.04 as of 08/24

We had an amazing thunder and lightningning show coupled with heavy downpours in the middle of the night - I know this cos I was up with pip from 2.30 for about 3 hours: excessive coughing leading to retching and struggling to breathe. We called 111 and got a call back but decided not to go to A+E. Needless to say, Pip didn't go to school today! I let him sleep until midday.Today I am grateful for the NHS, for Pip taking it easy, for going to the gym while he slept, for having the right to vote, for dh stripping and changing pip's bed.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7

A lovely day. Had a lazy morning, did my morning pages and a grammar point in Spanish then messed around on utoob. Did 2 laps of the running track, then took the dog to the park and read a lovely short story.... it was cold but sunny. In the evening I went for a meal at an ethiopian restaurant with my ex. I paid as it's his 40th in a couple of weeks but it was absolutely delicious and good value for money so I think well spent. So I'm over budget for the first time in about a month (I blame the bank hols) but I will recoup it next week by having a super frugal week... that's the idea anyway.
Grateful for the amazing person my ex is and the fact we can be friends, although I have recognised our relationship isn't romantic, it is no less special for not being so. Night turtles xStudent loan £5655

My niece's 'put everything on hold until her dad is better' is not working for me. Last August i was ready to wind up my mum's estate - just had a couple of things to do, including transferring the house from mum's name to mine and my brother's. Then he dropped the 'want to sell it' bombshell and I've been dealing with the fallout ever since. I think the cleaning needs doing because the house is so dusty (myself and DS3 start sneezing whenever we're there) and the garden needs tackling because I need to see if the !!!!!! willow roots have gone through the flagstones and whether there's actual physical damage to the house foundations/ drains etc. The sooner that's sorted the better because everything will start growing madly right now.
If you haven't been reading along recently, I was going to buy out my brother's half of the house (it will actually be a deed of variation on the estate which is a lot quicker and cheaper that a sale) and then move DS3 and his Beloved there (buying or renting from me). In the middle of last month, I had the brainwave that rather than trying to get DS3 to be proactive about mortgages, packing, sorting the house etc, It was far simpler to organise myself, pack my things and move there myself, taking only the things I wanted to.6
