Happy May Day
It's not about how you look,
It's about how you feel.
When you feel good,
It flows from you like beautiful warm sunshine
This letter is to you
The you that's had a rough week.
The you that seems to be under constant storm clouds.
The you that feels invisible
The you that doesn't know how much longer you can hold on.
The you that has lost faith
The you that always blames yourself for everything that goes wrong
To you. You are incredible.
You make this world a little bit more wonderful
You have so much potential and so many things left to do
You have time
Better things are coming your way,
So please hang in there
You can do it
(Jodi Ann Bickley)
Always end the day with positive thoughts.
No matter how hard today was
Tomorrow is still full of possibilities

Evening turtles. Good start to the month thus far, major DD's have all been paid and am feeling organised for a change! Also managed to get nice and up to date with work today which always helps me feel less stressed.
Downgraded Netflix to the new "basic" plan with adverts as they're discontinuing the plan I have. Will see how we go, I don't have terrestrial TV so not used to ads these days, if I don't like it I'll cancel altogether.
Got the train into work at lunchtime, and I was prepared today as I made a coffee before I left so there was no temptation to buy one once I got in! Tomorrow I'm on the road all day for work, I will stop off somewhere for a coffee no doubt, but I'm going to be more prepared and instead of stopping for coffee, lunch and a snack, then another coffee, I'm going to prepare lunch and one coffee in advance and bring it with me to have somewhere on route. Don't mind spending £3 or £4 as opposed to nearly £20.Save £2,400 tuition fees - £2,321.04 as of 08/24
Pay off credit card by December 2024 - £1,450/£2,0007 -
Today I am grateful for getting a Dr appointment for pip and for the Dr being proactive, for Pip having just 2 more official school days, for DH getting home much earlier than expected, for making a yummy carrot and coriander soup, for my book.

Happy Mayday everyoneThanks for the challenge @grandmanerdAges ago, I gave £10 for an old window seat that someone wanted rid of. It has been in the spare room for ages under a pile of old suitcases, but today I took it to a lady who is going to reupholster it
Obviously I will have to pay her, but it will be really nice extra seating for not much money - it is a nice piece, probably from the 1920s or 30s
It was great fun looking through her lovely fabrics.
The afternoon was taken up with a week's worth of washing up at my brother's flat, not so fun! But OH helpedNot a NSD as I bought bread and milk for my brother. The sun was out for most of the day - it has started raining now, but no heating needed. Washing mostly dried outside on the line (now finishing off on the airer), and I put some young plants outside to soak up the sun. It is too early for them to stay out at night though, so they are back in the greenhouse now. The dog is finding the odd fly to chase too, so the better weather must be coming. And it keeps him out of any other kind of trouble, so all goodWork tomorrow, and the dentist's followed by work on FridayGrateful today for a mostly sunny day, for the flowers in the garden, and that my old window seat is getting reupholstered.8 -
@Shrewbie, I have bought a copy of TAW but I am really struggling to see how to do the daily writing practice as I already get up at 5.30am for work etc and only get 15 minutes free time each morning (around getting up, feeding cats etc. and commute). I’m not sure I could cope with getting up at 5am … 😭 (I’d shift my sleep pattern but am restricted by what time OH would be willing to go to bed - he already stays up later than I can really cope with ….)
Any thoughts on this at all, as I gather you’ve done TAW a few times already?KKAs at 15.05.25:
- When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £235,841
- OPs to mortgage = £11,338 Interest saved £5225 to date
Fixed rate 3.85% ends January 2030
Read 23 books of target 52 in 2025, as @ 16th May
Produce tracker: £65 of £300 in 2025

Evening sunshines! ☀️ I did like that verse @grandmanerd.
Yoga & Norwegian done. Read a chapter of my book whilst eating breakfast. Sang along to my playlist on the way to work, nothing like blasting music through my car speakers to set me up for the day 😃
Work went well, sat with the secretary when I ate my lunch. Walked to the C00p to get my TV mag & mum's - had money off mum's, which the cashier didn't notice, so I went back inside to reclaim the money off. It all adds up & better in my pocket than theirs!
Put money in all my sinking funds & balanced last month's budget. After tea, I did 2 lots of alterations, one tool longer than I'd thought.
A couple of surveys done today, so getting closer to a large big River voucher 😊
Grateful for a good day at work, cuddles with our cats, feeling good about myself like warm sunshineUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Personally I would say write whatever you can in the morning, even if it's just a paragraph, whatever fits into your routine. I am sure even 10-15 mins would be enough to kick start the habit, then if you have more time at the weekends you could aim to write more then? perhaps @ditty1234 has some further insight xx
