NST A May Meditation

Please count me in @grandmanerd
and thank you for setting up May! I am flying home tomorrow and, after spending the first couple of days with my friend, I am most probably going to spend most of the next 10 days home alone at my mum's house, going to visit her at the hospital when the time for visits comes (she is having her operation this very moment, so not sure exactly how the visits will be allowed after that).
I am planning to spend that time as a big reset, preparing the house for when my mum comes home and I intend to introduce some good practice in my routine which I lost in the last year or so. This month's challenge really resonates with my plan, so I will make an effort to report here regularly on my progress.
I have set NSD for May at 17 before reading the challenge, so hopefully I will be able to stick to that.
I am very proud of 1 change I implemented in April, as I brought lunch and snack from home to the office 3 times out of 4! I am definitely aiming to do the same in May, and try to meal plan again (the February meal plan ended up not going anywhere as I spent half of the month not feeling very well).Debt free journey started 30/08/2023:

I'd like to join in May's challenge @grandmanerd. I wasn't around much in April but I have been reading everyone's posts. Hopefully I'm getting my commitments a bit more under control5

Can you count me in also @grandmanerd. I keep trying and reading along every day. Managed 19 NSD days this last month. Have my calendar written in detail for the next two weeks. I keep the calendar for the whole year as have to coordinate appointments for the five of us. But I keep it in greater detail for a week or two at a time. Have the budget planned. Need to start selling on eBay or someplace similar to help pay off the debts faster. Now if the roommates would stay out of the emergency ward and let me get some sleep, I should do even better.7

Returned to work last week after maternity leave and have definitely kick started the habit of buying a pastry at work every day. On the surface it feels very low level and nothing too threatening, but the pastries are 95p each, which over the course of a month if I get one every day is nearly £15. Once I've bought one for break I'm then tempted by buying lunch from the canteen too, often chips or a jacket potato, which is £1.25 - £3. So potentially spending £4 a day at work when I don't need to.
I have to pay £2 a day to park at work but that can go under travel.
We had a big grocery shop delivered this weekend so should be able to avoid the supermarkets until at least the end of the week - we have a toddler who drinks a lot of milk and has fresh fruit/veg/yoghurt most days (we have to provide lunch at his childcare too) so 'essential items' come around every 5 to 8 days, but our lunches and dinners are mostly accounted for for at least a fortnight.
I have definitely got into the habit of spending on my credit card over maternity leave, once this months balance is cleared I will keep it clear as far as possible.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January7 -

Happy May Day/ Día de los trabajadores everyone!!
In Madrid it's a public hol today and tomorrow so I have had a lovely leisurely morning, was woken by the dog nosing me at 6am but managed to put her off until 7:45 when she dragged me out for a walk. Have done my morning pages and bits of life admin. Lovely.
My ex is in Madrid for the week so I am going to go for a dog walk and meal with him later. Not sure if it's the best idea but we are still getting on well and it will be nice to see him. So today will not be an NSD.
I was moaning about Spanish banks in my last post (needing to pay commission, no interest on savings, having to take out 2 credit cards to avoid paying commission) well the very next day my work sent around an offer to switch from a bank that is one of our clients (it turns out that recently some banks are offering money to switch - I had never heard of banks in Spain doing this) and so I have found myself a great deal, no commission, EUR 250 to switch (although gross) but the best is 2% interest on savings, which is not to be sniffed at. So I have switched already.
Grateful for serendipitous bank account switching opportunity, for the dog being good as gold, for time to myself.
