My step son arrives tomorrow morning so we will have another Christmas day! lol. I shall take down the decs on Sunday. In years past when he lived closer he would come to us on Christmas day and I would have the decs tidied away on the 27th, thoroughly clean the house and redecorate the sitting room before the new year.
  • our went up on Christmas eve and came down yesterday only put them up for the grandchildren.dont like the clutter in the house:j
  • Dp took most of ours down today whilst I was working, he even took the tree to the recyling centre by himself too, bless him! But he forgot the wreath on the front door but nevermind- I think I can manage that one! lol!
:love:11th March 2010- Got engaged to my amazing fiance, planning our wedding for 2012:love:

I like everything down again BEFORE it has a chance to start to get dusty looking. Have stopped using ceiling decs now - moved to a new house just before last Christmas and have decided not to bother with them in future. The tree fills the bay window and is blocking out what little daylight we have at this time of year! Our cat usually commandeers the window ledges and is getting right p****d off with not being able to get to his usual vantage point! He's been lying on the stairs sulking for over a week now! I reckon the tree will be down tomorrow - when I've got an hour or so to spare! And this year the whole lot can go in the shed (apart from anything electrical - spare bedroom). Things got scattered somehow last year and we found them in 'dribs and drabs'. I'd love to know how come I've got about 8 rolls of wrapping paper left over (6 of them unopened and 3 of them from last year!!!) - well they can all go in the bottom of the blanket box for safekeeping - along with the gift tags, sellotape, some spare scissors, drawing pins and the four opened boxes of christmas cards.

Mine go up at the beginning of Dec and down on the last day of Dec. Can't bear them on my house in the New Year but still love them in other peoples' houses then.

I like a clean, fresh house for New Year resolutions. Don't know why.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
  • OH loves everything about xmas and would like the tree up until as late as possible. I've had enough of it now, its been up since early december:rolleyes:  .
Anyway he is on night shift tonight and when he arrives home in the morning the tree will be no more:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: .

The place doesn't seem to get cleaned the same whilst the xmas stuff is up:rolleyes: and i like to have a good tidy up before new year.;) ;)

Ours always come down on epiphany (6th Jan). Bit of a family tradition as it's my birthday, so it meant they were up for my party when I was little. We don't generally put them up until the day (or two) before Christmas Eve though so we're not too fed up of them!
  • I take mine down on newyears day if am not hung over lol
;)Never hold your farts in. They travel up your spine, into your brain, and that's where you get s****y ideas from.
