Work Capability Assessment (LCWRA)

Options
Hi, I had appointment with my GP on Monday to get a three month fit note to start the process of LCWRA as at the moment I am on LCW, but I need to get on to LCWRA as my mental health is bad and I also have new conditions (agoraphobia and social anxiety) which my GP has put them on my medical records and I just want Job Centre to leave me alone with these appointments until I recover from my dislocated knee cap as I am struggling to walk and overcome my fear of my agoraphobia which will take some time.

Now, I don't know how it works. I have notified Universal Credit of my three month fit note on Monday as I reported the fit note, but will this be enough to trigger the process? or do I need another 2 fit notes? It's confusing this for me.

Any advice would be great, thank you.

You need to send a journal message requesting early work capability re-assessment based on deteriorating health and/or newly diagnosed conditions. Provide more information  on what your GP has advised in the journal.

And then just in case journal is not looked at soon, also phone UC on 0800 328 5644 requesting a call back from Job Centre regarding starting re-assessment process.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

Thanks, I will leave a note on my Journal  do you think they will do this?

Sorted, I have left a message on my journal, just have to wait now :)
  • Just a quick update, as I got a reply back on my journal, gutted, what a shame, that I have to go all through the process again:

    Hi
We cannot speed up the process because you have declared a new health condition you will need to go through the process again
    Regards

    Yes that's correct.
The post above saying 'early' meant earlier than whenever they would otherwise get round to reassessing you which could have been years away yet.  Not a quicker process in terms of having to fill in the form and be (re)assessed.
  • How likely is it that I will get put on LCWRA, from LCW after I get reassessed? as I got two new conditions which is agoraphobia and social anxiety.

It depends on how your conditions affect you.  Have a read of this https://www.advicenow.org.uk/know-hows/employment-and-support-allowance-esa-activities-and-descriptors-and-substantial-risk

I don’t think it’s possible for anyone to tell you that.

There's far too many factors unknown for anyone to seriously guess although statistically decent chances generally speaking. As above it comes to down triggering a LCWRA descriptor or more than one based on how you are affected.

Update: The process is now started, I just got a notification on my Universal Credit journal this afternoon, so I should get the UC50 form by next week :)
