Morning all
Thanks for the thread, I will try to fly a little each day.
I am doing a charity bike ride in June so need to get some training in, but the weather is hampering plans. Yesterday I managed a decent ride before we went to Mums for lunch. However I woke in the night feeling thirsty and feel awful this morning so wonder if I am a bit dehydrated. Lesson learned.
Late start and finish today so have had a tidy around, emptied the DW and done some Pilates. Might have time to run the hoover around before I go to the paid stuff.
Have a good Monday all x7 -

Thank you Valli for the new thread.
Round, having passed the inspection every year since you've lived there, now that you've found your wings you should sail through it this year!
I have been up since 7.00 and trying to get my head round kitchen appliance insurance: should I just cancel all my policies, as they're all going up in price, or keep those for the built-in appliances going? The FF is about 5yo and already making funny noises and the oven nearer 12yo. I'd rather the cost went into my savings than the insurers' pockets, but I don't want to stop and then find myself replacing the oven within a few weeks. Decisions, decisions...
Flying will commence shortly. Hope everyone has a good week xxx7 -
Not that simple I'm afraid iona. I've only had one inspection in the 21 years that I've lived here. And I failed that first time round: too much stuff. The follow up lady was much nicer and didn't know what the problem was. Said the first inspector was too zealous. Today is a stock survey: roof, doors, windows, heating, electrics, bathroom fittings, kitchen cupboards. He's just opened the outside loo 😱 Not been used since DS and his mates played out. He had to bat away cobwebs. He says their repair team will sort the shed lock out for me if I report it. Who knows what his report will say? All I know is after that first inspection many years ago I received a Breach of Tenancy letter. Not good for my mental health. And any inspection now triggers anxiety. Even the annual boiler check.ionafan said:Round, having passed the inspection every year since you've lived there, now that you've found your wings you should sail through it this year!
Anyhoo. Breathe....sorted through a pile of papers: filed or added to shredding pile. Checked the bank statement that I found in there. Found some Christmas cards which can go upstairs with the rest of the stash. Removed cobwebs from kitchen windowsill.
Breathe. Breathe. Breathe. 🤢
I'm going to go online and request repairs to the shed lock and outside light. Might as well report the dripping gutter at the same time. I meant to do that weeks ago but couldn't find my password.

He's gone.
I've requested repairs to the shed lock, outside light fitting and guttering.
P & S will be here soon I hope, and we can have a coffee.
It's not stopped raining this morning.

TY for Fred, Valli and Natty.I hope you're not too stressed by this morning's inspection Round.I've been thinking about posting every day for weeks months but never actually did so, for which I apologise. Life's been busy but there's no excuse, especially as I made a commitment to do so last week and then didn't. Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. This morning I have shuffled yesterday's laundry as there's a 50% chance of rain and I've got rather a lot of stuff dangling because it's the first chance I've had to clear some of the backlog. At least the shower curtains are done, but I fear they are never going to recover fully from being left for so long. I could try bleach I suppose.Although I haven't been posting I have been Flying, making the effort to clean something every day. The house looks a lot better for it and it means my conscience is clear but I've only recently realised there really isn't enough time to do all the things I want to do, much less have the energy to do. I'm struggling with that realisation but I'll get over myself eventually. Now to trundle the dog and sort out some listies for a funeral I should go to next week which is at a bit of a distance and will involve staying overnight. I wish it were a bit warmer but I think I'll still take a tent etc and save the B&B price of a night's stay.Better is good enough.7

Narco.. I hate chips et done in the airfryer.. they are all dry and bland.. sausages and great hunks of meat do well in them.. I haven't attempted much else but I'm not a fan.. I also can't fit enough in it so end up using the oven as well anyway so I may as well chuck it ll in there.
Home insurance quote through..Renewal time...This year's total price~ £2,018.16Last year's total price ~£692.79My initial thought was 'Are you having a laugh!!!' .... yes they are.. apparently I have had a £4000 claim in the last year.. erm... no I have not!! So yes, they are indeed 'having a laugh'. I am now waiting for them to call me back to tell me I have had a nice fat claim and my house is now all perfect as a result.. This is going to be a whole thing isn't it?
Dry washing on the line now drippy.. It can stay out!
I think I have small grandboys this afternoon.. DD1 is usually here by now and is not. She must have sened me thinking about her.. she just messaged to say she might not go anyway.
We have bought dog food for my mothers muttleys.. and cat biscuits and litter for my hairy crew.. grabbed a few bits for the freezer too. Nothing reduced but it was mostly 3 for £10 offers.

Basics done and DGD2 and I walked Poppet in the rain which hasn't stopped all day. DGD2 loves the rain though and splashing in puddles. Jackets now on radiators to dry as we're off to toddler group this afternoon. DGD2 is now having a nap so I've had an early lunch in peace.
