Both hotels have parking on 1st come 1st served, so hopefully I won't have a problem.

I know that this is really scroogy, but I plan to take cereal & fruit for breakfasts, with our own picnic bowls or whatever. I had to stay in a hotel for about 2 weeks last July, and I bought a small travel fridge for about £15 from Woolies. It really is fantastic for keeping milk & a couple of drinks really cold.

To make sure we don't spend a fortune in food, I plan to take the following:

    cereal & milk
    bananas & apples
tescos chewy bars (yum!) / cereal bars
    salami sticks
hot dog sausages (we can just put boiling water over them in the hotel room).

Can anyone else think of other stuff that will hopefully ensure only 1 restaurant meal per day?

Oh, and a big thank you to the op's who brought this travelodge special up. I wouldn't have known about it otherwise.

Got them! I think the problem was that I was using Opera - tried on IE and that sorted it out.

    Hi Tincat
Stayed in Maypole just after it opened last year - very good hotel and car park is a good size - but if its full you will be able to park nearby for nowt!! Another big advantage - walk out the door and you are at a crossing with front door of Sainsburys directly opposite - so in 2 minutes you could be in sainsburys cafe ordering a nice cooked brekkie!! good treat for the saturday morning I say!!

    Hi
If the hotel has a bar cafe and the £6-75 ones do - get the breakfast - its all you can eat full english usually with cereals, juices, croissants etc thrown in - there are a few with just the Little Chef and rubbish £4 each breakfasts but not many - oh and if like me you have kids they eat brekky free with an adult
So we got 2 nights 2 family rooms with 10 breakfasts for £60 - absolute bargain :)

The postcode for the O2 is: SE10 0DX

Stick that in the Travelodge search thingamer to see the closest ones... and use www.tfl.gov.uk to find travel info between the O2 postcode and the postcode of your chosen hotel to see the public transport route (and check it again closer to your intended gig date incase theres those dreaded engineering works!)

Doublespresso, C00kie... thanks for the info.. :D

its the Tutankhamun exhibition i'd like to go and see.. doubt i'd get any £9 rooms, but £29 is cheap enough for that London, so not too bad ;)

the travelodge nearest to the o2 is just the other side of the Blackwall Tunnel

    http://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_hotel/hotel/hotel_id/45/LondonDocklands

short walk to the DLR , or there is a London bus that goes though the blackwall tunnel to the "south" side and drops off 5 mins walk from the O2

So, as with Tesco online, once again a large chunk of the population miss out. ah well!
    Do what I did -
Buy a pay as you go virgin mastercard for £9.99 solely for use online.
No credit check and no chance of building a debt as it's PAYG.
