Is this the same company that allowed people to book and pay for accommodation only for people to arrive to find their rooms had been given away on a "first come first serve" basis?0

I've just been on the travel lodge website and and searched through the Northern Ireland travel lodges for any super saver rooms either in June, July or August. None available.
Also noticed the small print (ROI excluded). Only a mainland UK deal from the sounds of it :eek:0 -
A word of caution; DO NOT bother with the travelodge in Brighton; it is awful, like a hostel!
Booked a room their saturday nite; was filthy, tatty, smelt and carpet held together with gaffa tape and mattress felt like an egg box.
They changed our room but it was even worse so asked for my money back and left.
Believe me, this is a truly appalling place, wouldnt send my worst enemy there!I'm a Nanny again! 23rd April 2012

Have stayed in loads on their various deals and nearly all very good for the money - only had to ask for a different room once (musty and window would not shut). Last January had two nights in Edinburgh just off Royal Mile for £30. Have booked 3 nights in Sussex in June for a total of £37.0

The newer ones are okay, but agreed, the old ones can be grim. I stayed in Birmingham Five Ways this Xmas, a year after it opened and it was very pleasant0

I stayed in the Brighton London Road Travelodge for a few days over Christmas and everything was fine. I've also stayed there twice in the past. I can't relate to any of the issues you've identified, except that it is a bit tatty. However, I've always booked when cheap rooms have been on offer, so have always felt I've had good value. I see that there is now also a Travelodge on Brighton Seafront and I don't know what this one is like.
