Lovely to have you back with us, Fayolle x
DD arrived yesterday afternoon with DGS1+2, and they stayed overnight. The boys are now both taller than my DH (and he's not exactly short), and I only come up to DGS2's shoulder - he (14yo) has had another growth spurt and is now almost as tall as his soon-to-be-16yo brother who is verging on 6ftThey took a coffee cake home with them, of course.
So far this morning I have cooked a large breakfast for everyone, made or stripped beds as appropriate, done WMx2 which I must go and hang out, and read all my emails. I need to check finances and pay L the dog walker. There are a few pillowcases to iron, which I will do this evening.
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks to all in need. Hope everyone finishes the week on a high xxx

just a bit, Ionafan. September 2025...
I shall just have to be patient!
And I have an interview for a 'pin money' job, which I will do alongside this job...if I get it.

Hope you can contain your excitement until September 2025 Valli.
My favourite bands/artists are Depeche Mode, Kate Bush, Alison Moyet and David Sylvian/Japan. I listen to them all the time. Do you know David Sylvian's Secrets of the Beehive album? It's a masterpiece imo.

This morning I went out for a walk with my lovely 'new' feet and called in at the bakery for a pain au chocolat for A and a cheese straw to share. I made lunch and washed up, put away a Waitrose order and S&S in the kitchen and had a quick vac around. The Waitrose order was missing two vital items for Sunday's birthday lunch so I've got to go out now to a branch to buy them. I also need to get the wine and some chanterelle mushrooms, which Waitrose don't sell. A is currently having a phone call with his physio so will go when that's ended.

Good afternoon
I am struggling today....paid stuff yesterday (open top bus along the seafront & playing in the sand), then WI agm last night, followed by a drawing workshop. All was going well until, quite out of the blue, I felt VERY ill! Struck down with d&v with no warning! I had eaten a load of rubbish yesterday!! I handed over the keys (I am usually responsible for locking up) & left.
I have been up a few times in the night & my insides feel like they have been turned inside out. Annoyingly, I am off today 🙄 I managed to put a wash on & DH has hung it out. He has also strimmed the grass. I have been dozing on & off all day, but I am now going to try a cup of tea 🤞 I have a raging headache, probably dehydrated. I wanted to achieve so much today!! 😫
Hugs to those struggling in tunnels, esp Round, Fayolle, ASB & kiss me
Cog you have similar taste to my DH!
Hugs, sticks & spoons to those that need them7 -
Get well soon GI 😘
Oooo citing Valli xx
Oooo Depeche Mode and Alison Moyet CoG. I now have Just Can't Get Enough in my head. That was my cue to hit the dance floor. Ahhhh. The 80s. Those were the days 😊.
I'm home. The air has been purple as just before leaving work I found out that my skiving colleague had gone to supervisor wanting me to help her finish her work. Luckily for me said supervisor said 'No'. I'm going to keep a record. Then I can go back to top boss with facts and statistics if I need to. I don't like to be that way but I've erased the word 'MUG' from my forehead now and it's staying off.
Anyhoo. I've got changed into my scruffs, filled the birdbath, emptied my lunch bag, put out the recycling, and made and supped a coffee. Richard Osman at 6 with calorie counted pizza from the freezer for tea....well, I'll cook it first! Obvs.
Rxx

Thank you, ASB, lovely to be back x
Ahh, the 80’s, the dance floor, lying on the bed to get the tight trousers done up. Listening to Tears for Fears and Spandau Ballet on repeat. Where did it all go?
Have fun looking forward to Simply Red, Valli. We still only have 1 ticket for Taylor this summer, but DD will go with her friend who also has a ticket. It’s not like I’ve not been before, maybe just a couple of times…
Work endured, dinner cooked, WULTD, going to get into pjs now, put on the kettle, and watch Stacey sort someone’s life out.5 -
Ooh CoG…saw Yazoo live in Steel City, back in the day. Was never a big Japan fan but I do like Depeche Mode.
Been a busy day so i’m in bed. Towels dried beautifully on the line.
Round…loving the paper trail. well done.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

It sounds as if many of us are if a similar vintage.
@Goodintentions hope you're better soon - that sounds really horrible. Your DH has good taste music.
A rang the hospital who put his mind at rest about the drug interaction and sent an email to the GP asking what the next steps (no pun intended) are with his toes, now the hospital has said it's not a fungal infection.I went out and bought the guinea fowl and the girolles (not chanterelles). They're more for decoration on the plate than anything so I was a bit disappointed in how they looked, but beggars can't be choosers. I stopped off at the wine shop and they had made a mistake with something I'd ordered so they gave me a free bottle of something else, more expensive (very money saving!) by way of apology (not that it mattered particularly but they are really nice in there). I came back and did some online banking and made tea then, later, supper and washed up. Have done A's eye drops (just the last one to go) and put out his breakfast things. I have a busy day tomorrow so would like to get to bed early so that I can be up early.7
