I like Rod Stewart.. He shares my brothers birthday and my first born is named after him.. I have a very ecelectic mix of stuff I listen too.. everything from Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline to Citizen Soldier and Bryce Savage with a dollop of REM, Whitesnake and Rammstein in there.. However.. Mick Hucknall gives me the heeby-jeebies.. but I hope you have a wonderful time Valli..
Guns'n'Roses are AMAZING live.. Boy George is amusing.. Bon Jovi were fantastic every time.. System of a Down were vulgar and disgusting. DS1 wants to take me to Ocean Colour Scene playing at City Hall and DD1 wants to take me to Nickelback but no one else can or will look after her children and she has no one else to go with.
DD2 and GF are going to see Taylor Swift in the summer.. Pixie is most envious.
Living on loperamide today.. I've gone through a box full since Sunday..... hot chocolate followed by ice cream and chocolate is going to kill me off one day.. haha.
5 loads of washing done and dried on the line so now all folded and upstairs.
Beanie is 1 tomorrow so we are going to DD1's after swimming.. I will get NOTHING done all weekend again!!
1 large box of creme eggs donated to DD1's household. I have another for DS1's household.
I still need to package 3 sold items, order prescriptions and it is dance/swimming restarting this weekend.. never a minutes peace! .. and chase the stopcock replacement.
Ovaltine and choc chip cookies for the WAC.

morning all. i’m awake early having my vertical half hour but i’m going to hunker back down and have a lie in afterwards. I changed my bed yesterday so it’s all lovely and fresh.
D (my friend, the one who supported me magnificently during treatment) and I are going to Liverpool on Monday for a mini break. We have a hotel room each and breakfast booked so I must pack for that. D and I are the ones going to see Simply Red and she snagged the tickets, not far from the stage too. I will try not to harp on about it…
Not sure what the weekend will bring. Kitchen and bathroom could do with a clean but we’ll see.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Hallooooo xx
Weekend woot woot 💃💃 I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough...
My taste in music is eclectic too: Meatloaf to Mozart; Elvis to Englebert....with a smidgeon of Rainbow and a dash of Dolly. Live I've seen: Meatloaf (3 times); Englebert and Daniel O'Donnell (with Mum) (lost count how many times); Jennifer Rush; Feargal Sharkey & the Undertones; Elkie Brooks; The Seekers; Judith Durham on her own. All a long time ago. Ahhhh memories.
I'm up, made my bed, opened windows in the bathroom and my bedroom, brought down the laundry hamper, sorted washing into loads, set first load swishing, taken cans of pop out of their cardboard packaging- cans in fridge and cardboard to be recycled, and supped my first brew.
Oooo a blue tit with nesting material just went into my bird box. And again. Brew 2 required. Join me?

Morning all
Lovely to hear about everyone's music tastes. Mine is wide ranging as well - I adored George Michael and was so lucky to see him in concert before he was taken too soon.
I also love 90s/00s music - I was born in 1985 so listening to that brings back my youth!
Today I am taking the kids out to a trampoline park for an end of hols treat. Back to school on Monday - the house will seem quiet without them! I need to get my head down and work out my budget figures whilst they are bouncing - not in debt but only just managing month to month. That is with working full time (on less than the "average" national salary) plus child benefit. There is just nothing spare at all - things like our trip out today are a HUGE treat, paid for by my extra shift in the pub last week, and we are taking our own food/drinks etc. The weather doesn't help - my heating is off now but the fire still has to be lit to keep the damp at bay.
Rant over - sorry this isn't a pity party, I just get frustrated at how much everything costs and the fact I work so hard yet am constantly monitoring the pennies. It would be nice to allow myself a £10 splurge every now and again on something for me! Right, I am going to join ROUND in brew 2, maybe even some toast.
Have fab days all xx

Raising my mug to asb - cheers xx
I put my fleece on over my nightie and pegged out the first load. Second load swishing. Weather forecast says likely to rain by midday so I'm hoping to get everything dry or semi-dry by then.
Graham Kendrick is in the CD player in the kitchen at the moment. I often listen to him while I WUDUPA and end up with my arms in the air worshipping at the kitchen sink. Only problem with that is the water drips down my arms 🤷♀️

I'm dressed in my scruffs but wearing perfume and earrings - so I've totally confused myself 🤣
I've fed the birds, put out the recycling, emptied the bins in LR and kitchen and fitted new bin bags. Second load has finished swishing so it can be pegged out ..fingers crossed the heavy rain expected at lunchtime doesn't arrive early 🤞

Great to hear about everyone's music likes. I"m not really a concert person but I did see David Sylvian live once, at the Hammersmith Apollo (I think it's called something else now). It had fixed seats and my legs were far too long for the space I had so it was very uncomfortable. DS is not a natural live performer either (in fact I think he really dislikes it) so it wasn't the best of concerts. That was donkey's ago though.I've got sooooooo much to do today and should have been up much earlier. Also, I forgot to get the butter for the birthday cake out of the fridge last night to soften, so that has put me behind. Fortunately it' a mild day and I"ve cut it up into small cubes so it shouldn't take too long. Anyway, here is my list for today.Have a shower and get dressed (no, I haven't even done those things yet)Make the coffee and walnut cake (the favourite of B, whose birthday it is)Make the marzipan for said cake (It's coffee and walnut cake, my way, not the trad recipe)Make the buttercream for said cake and put it in the fridge ready to use when decorating the cake tomorrow morning.Roast the guinea fowlStrip the meat off the guinea fowl once cooked and cooledMake the passion fruit mousse and put in individual dishes in the fridge to chill overnight.Clean the bathroomClean the kitchenTidy aroundMake lunch, tea and supper.Wash up x 3Give eye meds X 8Go out and buy potatoes and newspaperEmpty the kitchen bin and take a bag of rubbish downBuy flowers (if I have the time) as the ones we had in the sitting room have just gone in the binLooking at that, I just want to go back to bed.
I will report back later - wish me luck!

Second load pegged out. Heard a swift or swallow or house martin flying overhead. Summer must be coming 😊
Started to DUPA the pots that were WULTD last weekend while the kettle boiled for my coffee.
I'll sup my coffee then I'll:

WUDUPA

Good morning 😊
I am feeling much better today, after lots of sleep yesterday & last night.
I have been for a walk with DH to the local park - flowers displays are looking glorious in the sunshine. He is pacing around as he is off to Manchester to run the marathon tomorrow.
I must dash, as I am taking him to the station!
I will catch up later5 -
