Morning all. Sticks being thrown for any black dogs around.
Today I have done a work shift, dailies, walked Poppet and cut front grass of a fashion. Oh, and located missing parcel from Tuesday. It was wedged under the door frame of the cupboard where the lawnmower is kept.Spend less now, work less later.5 -
Still around and plodding on but struggling. Looking forward to time home alone on Monday.
New kitchen is almost complete just waiting for draws delivered tomorrow and some sealant to do and a blind to put back up
On one hand I shouldn't have had this done during holidays but I saved money by eldest son and step dad fitting it and means no strange workmen here upsetting youngest and his routine etc.... now just got mountain of rubbish to get rid of and some cupboards I'm fitting in the shed are currently in the summerhouse to deal with 🤣5 -
Didn't quite get the whole lot done but got a fair bit through.
My list for the hour is as follows -
* Hoover living room
* Empty and reload dishwasher
* Wipe down kitchen counters
* Tidy bedroom floor
* Hoover upstairs
* 2 loads of washing (will have to be one before and one after the swim) 1 done
Stopped to have a spot of early lunch as my swim is over lunch time. Going to have 15 minutes or so then do the hoovering before I go out for my swim.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January5 -
Squeak is home today.. we have done maths and we have done some work on the suffragette movement.. I might find her a documentary or something for this afternoon.. She is currently washing pots.. by hand.. I am letting her.. ooh.. I also have some lupins to plant.. I will get her on that.. it is an outside thing and she likes outside.I have sent an email to school re Squeaks EHCP, funding and a reduced timetable maybe.I replied to a message from a place OH applied too.. they asked what time he was available so I told them.. so they gave him Tuesday when I had said he couldn't make it .. and gave them his availability again.. so they booked for yesterday afternoon while he was working.. I know he is allowed time off for interviews as he has had a redundancy notice but he has mornings free and that is easier for him and he doesn't want to miss work. So they asked if he wanted an interview and if not why not.. so I told them he doesn't feel they would be well managed, supportive employers who take their responsibility seriously and he has a good work ethic and in work hours wants to serve the clients in a well managed and timely manner.. it doesn't bode well when they cannot organise an interview. Don't ask for feedback if you don't want to hear how you come across.. I was polite, or I tried to be.We took my mothers dead sofa to the tip in our car.. I need to vacuum that actually.. and get the laminate out of the boot.. I want to slap some down in the loo.. and see if there is enough to do my hallway.. the carpet which has been down 15 years is gross from Hazel and her senility using it as a lavatory and there is a worn bit on the back step. If I don't laminate the hallway I need a new carpet which means hall, stairs and 2 landings.. I might do that..
I have washing to hang out..
I need a quote from a plumber and an updated costing from the door/window chap.. then I am taking out a loan to pay for those.. I will never save it but I will pay it.and I have 2 parcels to sort..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)4 -

Swim swum, walk around the park after with a coffee done, third load of washing in the machine and two out on the line to dry. Upstairs has been hoovered, now I just need to whip round the downstairs and then my list of jobs is done for the day. I'm having a cuppa and some biscuits first though.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January5

Had to drop in and send hugs to those in a tunnel. I'm on the south coast for a few days as Mr Ns brother lives there, about 30mins from my mum. Planning when and where I can swim tomorrow so I keep up the practice for June's event. Swam with buddy yesterday evening in a lake, having done Body Pump in the morning. Pilates this morning.
Washing up to date.
Washing up ditto.
Minimal mess in house.
Seeds doing well in greenhouse.
Bird feeders filled daily.
Report writing up to date.
Paperwork for next 3 assessments partially prepared.
Senior bus pass not arrived yet.
Glad your op went OK Iona.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.5 -
Hug much appreciated Narco and thanks for letting me know you are in the tunnel too Round, I feel less lonely in here xxPigpen unless the opticians refer me the docs don't want to know. If I insist that the GP look at it without a referral I go to the bottom of the queue so my strategy now is to pester the optician until they either sort it or refer me to the doctors. I have an appointment tomorrow.
Someone DS knows was killed in a car accident yesterday. He has 2 small children. I had to give myself a talking to, yes things are a bit rough with DHs health and money, but it could be worse. I have a lot to be thankful for.6 -
Hello, can I sneak back in the corner please?
This is the longest that I have been away from the thread since forever and I am missing you all.
A couple of things happened a few weeks back that threw my self esteem and dented my confidence. I held a full on pity party with an invitation list of one. A lovely flylady cajoled me out, showed me what I had to be grateful for and, best of all, didn’t give up on me and made/makes me smile 😘.
So here I am, I think I might be in that tunnel with YL and Round, but at least I am not in the dark tunnel alone.
Flying has happened. Maybe not all of it, but enough to get by.
Sending out hugs to you all, I have a few spare sticks and spoons if you would be up for sharing x5
