oh my giddy aunt!!!
'Is Wednesday 2pm ok?'
Really...?!?!
*withdraw application* It does not bode well does it when they cannot read a very simple message and work their time accordingly.. I dont need OH working for a company like that.
Girls dropped off, Wool for 2 jumpers collected.. DW on.. OH dressed and pressed and scarfing cereal before heading off.. I think this job would be a nice one for him, even if it means I have school run issues.. I might have to get a mobility scooter to do 2 school runs a day.. or move nearer school! I'm sure I can juggle something.
It looks like we are having a showery day today..

Still wet here so no dog walk yet.
I have freshened sofa covers, changed bedding, got first of three wash loads in machine, wiped all surfaces, tiles and small apple in kitchen, wiped all electrical appliances round the house and they are on, wiped all tiles around the house and S&sd bathroom and downstairs loo.
Also been chasing a parcel they're saying has been delivered this morning which clearly hasn't as I've been here. Grrr...Spend less now, work less later.6 -
The power of flylady! I'm convinced it's a tangible thing. So thank you to all who sending out the vibes.
It's much quieter in the office today. And things have been sorted so that I'm not being pulled from pillar to post.
I'm just nipping in during my lunch break to say THANK YOU 😘
Flying? I'm going to contact the landlord and ask them to fix the dripping gutter. It has all round the house to drip.....and decides that immediately outside the back door is the best place for it. That will be a 🐸 swallowed too.

Cloth_of_Gold said:I bought a lovely woollen overcoat in the post-Christmas sales and I don't want it to be eaten, so tomorrow I'm going to vacuum it (just in case) and put it in a zip bag in the wardrobe until next autumn/winter, with some (hopefully effective) moth repellent.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Just popping in to let you all know I'm still alive! DGC have been off for the last two weeks, back in today but we are on schooling run and tea making, etc. Normal service may be resumed, or not. Have spent time, every day, outside weeding, planting, replanting to replace plants eaten overnight by vermin, moving compost, etc. Peas, carrots, beans, now in. Asparagus is growing really well, getting a bunch most days, which would be good if we actually liked it more. Most being sold on the gate. Flying today, some sweeping done, DW emptied, mended and refilled, tea prepped and now cooking, chapter of "The Secret Seven" read to the girls.
I have been trying to read along the last couple of weeks, but struggle to reply on the tablet! Glad you all enjoyed your meet up. If you could make the next one South wales, I'd be grateful. Might not be many others turn up though!
Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.7 -
Children collected so we are now all soggy.
I had a thought.. I could have brought paperwork for a driving licence on Sunday.. silly me.. NVM.. I shall figure something out.. If OH gets this job I will not be able to do all the school runs.. I can get transport for Dot and Squeak and Pixie can take Squeak come September but I still have to get Dot and Twinkle to separate school at the same time.. I need to figure something out.. Dot cannot be taken on a bus.. I might get an electric tricycle with child seats.. that might be fun... it's that or a mobility scooter.
OH has got his redundancy package..it's not a lot but will pay off his credit card..

Good afternoon 😊
Busy day today, but DH & I have been decorating the DR. I am on woodwork and he does walls. Much juggling of toyboxes has been done! Unfortunately, we have run out of paint 🤦♀️ It is a through lounge/diner, and we need to do 1 1/2 coats on the adjoining wall (which has a 6.5ft square gap in it!). Paint is on order, but the company are moving their warehouse so we won't get it until next week 🙄 Fortunately, I can't see the bare patch or the patchy bits from the living room so it won't bother me too much 👍
Furniture & toy boxes have all been replaced. Floor has been washed where needed. Brushes, roller & tray have been washed. The fish tank & dining table need to be put back, but that can wait until DS is home.
Other flying....erm....I have WULTD. I tried to vac the LR, but ran out of charge so I will do that when the table has been moved. Patio doors are open for fresh air.
Round I'm pleased today has been uneventful.
Narc0 I haven't been running much for a few months. I need to get back into it. I had a fluey not-covid bug earlier in the year which knocked me for six. DSIL & I have been walking the parkrun, or volunteering.
Hugs to those that need them.
Tonight I will be doing WI admin & knitting.6 -
Evening all
Daughter back at college, so time to rejoin the thread !
Today:
Shower cleaned, including the nasty gunky trap thingie ... yukkety yuk ... hair and hair conditioner ought to be banned somehow !
Sink cleaned, including the nasty gunky thing (sense a theme ?)
Loo cleaned, in, out, round
Rhubarb wine put into demijohns for secondary fermentation.
Kitchen floor mopped up after racking said wine! And some cupboard doors also cleaned down, lol.
Salmon out defrosting to be made into fishcakes, but now looking like tomorrow nights dinner, but I'll hopefully get most of the prep done today. Potatoes - boiled and "mashed" (riced).
Quiche being made, pastry resting (As am I) .... leeks / gammon / chicken and asparagus. With the first of the asparagus from my allotment for this year
Easter decorations down and packed up, just need to be transferred to the garage.
WM x 1, weather so dismal, it's on an airer
DW x 3 so far ... another to go I think.Dinner tonight will probably be lasagne, did a batch cook the other day to send DD off with some "ready meals" and did some for us at the same time .... do need to wander down to the Co-Op to see if they either have garlic bread or a foccacia which I can then convert into a g/bread, using some butter I've made previously, some parsley I got reduced at some point and dried with either lottie grown garlic or foraged crows foot garlic ....Had to hotfoot it to the allotment this morning as a call to arms came in saying that all sheds on site had been broken into ... transpired a "mere" 80% had beenThings taken, things left by the front gate ... general mehness ... I don't have a lock on my shed, so thankfully whilst my shed had been opened, they were obviously uninspired by the contents ... Hurrah!
