They're rubber and used for tying stuff up with, and you use loads of them...

i haven't tried the lighting the candle in the bathroom one! i too open the window, but will try the candle, does it have to be a fragrance one.

No I think it just burns off the methane(sp) gas!!! BTW I do open the window too but it doesn't stay open because of losing heat.

  • Burning a match in the bathroom has the same effect :-)

I've never paid for a car wash in my life. Hubby thinks I'm mad but I actually enjoy washing a car by hand.

I pick up pennies in the street- no problem with that at all.

I charge my phone at work- I really hate having to charge it at home.

I also recycle presents and make gift tags from old cards.

I use the cardboard labels from clothes, punch a hole in the end and thread a scrap of ribbon through it as bookmarks.

Is this not an explosion risk?

I get near the carpark at work for 7:30 so i can park for free on an adjacent street instead of spending between £2.50 & £4.50 to park all day.

I agree with this one, but have to admit that if I could park in a car park near my train station I would pay for it. I have a 2 min walk to the station from the local road which is free, so no hassle at all, BUT I've had my car wing mirrors smashed off 3 times, my back wondow put through twice and once with my stereo being nicked, had my car walked over (yes, that's right... I wondered why the heck I had shoe imprints on my wind screen and when I looked, they were all over my car roof too  ) and more recently my bumper smashed off and driver's wing remodelled for me. I guess this one very much depnds on where you live

Unfortunately I live in quite an old town and the train station is one of the very first built that went into central London (i.e. built when cars weren't very common place) so we don't have a car park that I can use... :(

  • Being a List-a-holic, I started a few years ago, at the end of the school year to go through the notebooks the children bring home from school and cut out the unused pages! Sometimes they have books which they have got new a few weeks beforehand or just have not needed to use them. I keep these loose pages in a boxfile which I can then use for writing lists etc or I send the children to it if they want pages to draw over or whatever!
I have yet to use up all the paper within the year so I have gathered quite a stash now! :D

Happened to me too, very frustrating! All those little wing mirror replacements add up!
