Another year over and we're still together. It's not always easy, but I'm here forever0 -
ooh just remembered, haven't had my hair cut since August (and that was a b'day pressie from OH) ... it's getting v. long but I condition it every time I wash it (BOGOF shampoo & cond from Tesco's too!) and try not to blow dry it too much, so it looks OK actually! people keep saying they are jealous of how long and shiny it is ... i just keep v. quiet lol!!Target debt - Loan left over from previous relationship - c. £3700

I haven't had my hair cut for 2 years! I do trim the fringe bits when they get in my eyes. I have to wear it 'up' for work so it hasn't mattered.
I can get meals, sandwiches and hot drinks at work so I make use of this perk to save on food bills and washing up.
I very rarely have the hot water on. The shower is electric and as I live alone I create very little washing up (see above). If I need to wash a few cups etc I just use the remaining hot water from the kettle, which has got to be cheaper than heating the whole tank.0 -
My Mum cuts my hair (and because I wear it in a ponytail all the time, I can get away with it being less than perfect!);
I sometimes walk 5 miles home from work at night (which takes about an hour and a half) to save a pound on the bus fare;
I have washed my own car for about 4 or 5 years now;
I have not bought new clothes (apart from underwear for obvious reasons!) and live off Ebay and charity shop clothes;
I have not had a holiday in 10 years;
I have not been out for dinner in 2 years;
I have not paid to go to the cinema in 2007.
Miserable cow!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Never wash my car - life is too short. I haven't had my hair cut for 6 months or dyed but I need my roots doing so that will be New Year treat.
If I want to go to Birmingham I'll take the bus £1.40 beats paying a fiver for parking. If I go to my nearest village - parking is free (Rubery) plus I get a divi from the co-op. If I go to Barnt Green (millionaires row) then I will pay British Rail 50p to park on their carpark for 2 hours.
If I can buy furniture in a charity shop I will, same goes for household electricals. Am still wary of buying clothes in them tho but have seen a sheepskin coat hardly worn in my local one for £7.50.
If I go to Northfield I will pay £1 on the bus but will walk back because it is downhill (done on rare occasions as will never pay for parking there).
I try not to fill up my car with petrol either, I usually wait until I visit my OH in London and he gives me money and buys a tank of petrol - he knows I am skint. I even charge him when he comes to stay when he is on inspections for his job - I charge him £27.50 per night which funnily enough is what he gets as expenses when he stays with a friend (he would get £85 per night for a hotel and he is trying to save taxpayers money).:D
I am so tight I even make my own gift tags by recycling cards.0 -

I do this too! I've been eyeing up my cards on display working out which ones will make good gift tags!0 -
I am lucky as we get free tea, coffee and milk at work which I buy with petty cash money in my own time so I dont feel guilty for getting Tescos club card points!
I dont wash my car and I cut my own hair- its so thick and curly no one even notices when I have cut 6 inches off so why pay some one to cut it?
I always check the reduced food sections first and make sure I send off for all the freebies I can and then use any mocs and reuse the packaging for my Ebay sales.Debt Free - done
Mortgage Free - done
