Ah I am glad I said something then @Toni'sfriend, I wasn't sure if it was intrusive to do so. Beanielou is more of an expert, but something you said made me think of it. Even if it helps offset getting taxis instead of public transport to appointments etc, it might come in handy.
In other care-related news, dad's now wearing the alarm pendant which we got for mum, so I am relieved about that as it puts my mind at rest when I am away for long periods of time. Today we discovered a problem with the phone line being all crackily, and found it because the care alarm went off and the people on the other end couldn't hear us over the crackle saying it was only an accident, so they put the emergency plan into action of ringing friends neighbours and family. It was good to see how prompt it was and I was able to stand it down easily too. When I told Plusnet how we had discovered the fault on the line they put us on a higher response because there was a careline attached to the phone. I hadn't thought to notify them when we installed it (I was in such a state all year last year) so thought I would share that here!
I moved my direct debit for mortgage #2 today, as I have a new paydate as a result of changes at work. Very efficient process, and glad I remembered to do it. It did trigger a recalculation of my mortgage payments to take into account overpayments so has gone down by about £50 a month, but I am not worried about that as this is the cheaper rate one that is fixed for another 8 months or so, and I would rather be overpaying the more expensive one! I haven't managed to make regular overpayments on the more expensive mortgage but I can at least move that £50 to be a regular one now.
work has been very full on this week but I managed to finish early today, luckily really as I had all the phone stuff to sort out. Have made a few inroads into the great big list of admin jobs and also been up at the flat for a few hours pottering around and watching TV. Was a nice way to relax. Am just about to run a bath then I'll potter a bit more then go back to dad's for the evening x10 -

Glad you enjoyed your chocolate @beanielou & @Shrewbie. I had some galaxy chic tonight 😋
Dropped DS3 off at his friend's after breakfast. They're off to the cinema, then DS will head to his GF's, so we won't see him now til Sunday night! Went for a walk with DH, it rained on the way back, when we'd stopped to chat to a man who lives up the road. The washing on the line wasn't soaked though, so left it out a bit longer. Emailed the architect to chase up some incorrect measurements.
After dinner I sewed the first memory bear together. My neighbour called round to give me some books. I'm scared to go into my bedroom in case there's an avalanche!!! The bookcase is full, there are 3 piles of books in front of it, which are all taller than me & one is very close to touching the ceiling... If you never hear from me again, you'll know what happened!!
Sorted some things in my bedroom after tea, another half dozen things to donate & a couple of things to sell. Did my jigsaw for an hour, then sat knitting & watched the end of a series.
Grateful for the fire coming back to life after I'd put too much 'coal' on & putting it out, ticking things off my mental list, time to relax & do things for me 😃Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Ticking off the mental list is a great feeling! I am aiming for a focus on that this weekend.
Have tidied and part-cleaned my bedroom at Dads tonight, and sorted out a bag of things to donate. Have the floors to hoover and mop tomorrow, I thought that was a bit antisocial at 10pm! It does feel a lot nicer.
Am still quite a way down the waiting list for a spot at the gym class tomorrow, and we have the phone engineer coming, so I think I'll take the decision now not to try to get up and out for that. There is a gym session on the beach on Sunday morning, maybe I'll try that instead! In a disguise!
Sweet dreams turtles!
I had a malteaser bunny tonight, inspired by Beanie!
