Hello turtles! Sorry things have been tough @Toni'sfriend, and hope both you and himself are feeling a bit stronger. I have missed you posting, but of course, no pressure! It sounds like a frightening start to the day. Welcome back to @FlyingBy too, I was wondering how your stepmum was getting on...it sounds busy, and just as you have a lot to deal with in your family. Sending hugs. And a couch to rest on for a bit!
Good luck to @beanielou junior, I have a relative interviewing for a teaching post today too, I hope they are both successful!
@lcc go gentle on yourself, pain and medication do make us really foggy and we don't make the best or most thought out decisions all the time. I have started to cultivate the habit of adding " ...and that's ok" to the end of my internal monologue, because too often I beat myself up for things that are actually ...ok. it's helping a bit to keep things in proportion. (I've caught the wrong bus and will be slightly later than planned, and that's ok...I've bought the wrong screws for this fitting and that's ok...I'm not going to cook from scratch tonight and that's ok) etc. Very American but it's helping me!

Sending hugs to all turtles & their families. It will get better! Good luck @beanielou junior, what's meant for you won't pass you by 🤞
Was too shattered last night to post, but got LOADS done! Including cutting out & sewing a memory bear, tidying a bit of the garden, going for a walk & shortening 2 pairs of jeans. Another NSD, & today too, do think I'm on #16!!
Did yoga & Norwegian before breakfast. Work went fine, though had to cover someone's lunch, so was with the pupil I said I wouldn't work with any more. It went ok luckily. A quick mile walk with a work bestie after work, then caught up on messages, etc.
After tea, I reply a sofa cushion zip & one in a pair of trousers, both zips in my stash, do didn't need to buy any 😊 My cousin sent me a lovely photo of my late auntie on her birthday in November, which was nice.
Grateful for a lovely weekend, DS3 being able to drop a sewing job off in town, that my lunch cover went ok, another 2 sewing jobs taken off the big sewing mountain 🏔️, seeing the tadpoles swimming in our pondUse it up, wear it out

Thank you, Starlight. I have been a bit lax at posting this month but basically nothing has been happening and I feel that I am always complaining just now. I have been reading and I do hope you are all well and things are working out for you all. Times seem to be tough for a lot of us.
So, on a positive note, I'm off for a month's very quiet and relaxing holiday on Saturday' Looking forward to it enormously although I doubt it will be very active.
Love and hugs to everyone. xxxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -

Have a lovely time away, Toni'sfriend.Today I am grateful for my liddle shop - no boxes or bargains, but still a darned sight more than I'd get for the same money at sainz-, for a neighbour having some papers for Pip to scour for headlines for his art, for a good journey and sesh for Pip up in Lunnon this afternoon, for Pip being well enough to go back to school tomorrow (hope I'm not speaking too soon...!), for an amazing quantity of blossom on my apple tree, for cheery people at the gym.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!10

Happy holidays @Toni'sfriend, the change of scene & routine will be just the medicine you're needing!

No yoga this morning, couldn't prise myself out of bed 😂 did get my Norwegian done though. DH filled a bucket of pond water to take to school for some frogspawn. Great excitement when 2 of our tadpoles were spotted amongst the pond plants! Topped up later by more tadpoles from the nursery. Work had a slight blip, but nothing I couldn't handle & all worked out in the end.
A customer came to collect sewing whilst we were eating tea. I thought it was the 💂, so had grabbed his 2 jackets, then there was a massive rumble as the book mountain had an avalanche! Then it was a different customer at the door, for her trousers 🤣🤯 The soldier did come shortly after though. Sat hand stitching a memory bear (a 6th one by the same family has now been requested!), & watched a film. My brother phoned for an hour too.
Grateful for my friend coming round after a major op in Aberdeen (she'd messaged me mid-morning, asking me to look out for her children if she didn't make it 😓), her daughter keeping me updated, time to draw umbellifers in art which helped me relax immensely after receiving the message, hugs from DS3 who's returned from his GF's againUse it up, wear it out

I hope your friend continues to heal @Thrifty_Taylor, they clearly trust and love you a lot! Happy holidays
@Toni'sfriend...most of my knowledge of that area is gleaned from watching Vera with dad.... So I feel duty bound to warn you that the serious crime rates per person seem a little high! But the coastline and countryside looks beautiful
I have been blessed by a visit from a lovely friend and a couple of extra work days off she has egged me on to master a few new DIY basics skills, I have purchased a drill (my network having failed to turn up one on the few days I needed it) and voila, I have curtains up, heavy pictures up, and a much decreased pile of clutter in the corner of the flat. An extensive list of things I need to do before opening up to rent out properly has been written, and we have identified that most of it takes just brain power/decision making, a few things required purchasing but weren't high costs so IKEA order is in, and her OH is recruited for a day of wall papering It helped so much to have someone sit with me while I began the tasks, and I have also made some headway with the scary but important admin jobs.
I am back with dad tonight so a bit of TV watching (Shetland this time!) and my momentum carried on, I sorted through a few boxes and folders of old papers - found a huge raft of receipts for work expenses from the employer before last, so I have put them to shred. In doing so found £10 of non barcoded stamps that I had not swapped so have packaged those up with the claimform which seems still to be valid, and they can go off with the mail tomorrow. I also found a dozen Xmas picture stamps which I think are still valid.
Back to work tomorrow and 🤞 the momentum can carry on. I am sleeping over at my house tomorrow as plumber due there early Thursday, and 🇺🇦D is away until mid may so will be using these next 3 weeks as an opportunity to deep clean her room and move some furniture around to suit her needs better.
Happy Tuesday night all, sleep well!11 -
I know what you mean, Starlight, but in all the years I've been going there I've never even seen a policeman. They must keep their crime well hidden in my little village.
Confession. Due to weight gain I can't fit into any of my summer clothes. Now that we're starting to reduce the medication dosage and if I can keep away from the Tunnock's teacakes (difficult) it should start to come off but realistically that's going to take a while. So I have spent a bit on some new clothes to see me through the summer. In my defence it should make me feel better mentally. I mean I can't continue to live in PJs for ever and it does look a bit odd if going out for a meal. I would really like to get my hair done but that's a step to far at the moment.
So today I'm going to try and get a bit tidying done and organise some things for the holiday.
Beautiful day here. Hope it is where you are as well. xxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.13
