Beanie, I agree about not letting it put you off. Did your chair have arms so you were protected and supported on 3 sides - if not I'd try putting another chair on each side of you. It's something I tried to drill into my mother as she kept taking a stool out into the garden and then had to shout for help as she couldn't stand up again or get back to the house (once or twice she had started to fall over but was holding onto the side of the raised bed or wherever she was working to stop herself falling onto the floor).
I'm sure everyone in the class feels supportive - the 'chair' pilates already means that they accept that getting down on the floor or standing for long periods are no longer options, we're all on that sliding scale of abilities. About 10 years ago when I was still able to take regular exercise class (a Council initiative follow on to SW class), I would get a chair to hold onto if we were doing leg exercises and move to a corner of the room where I could use a table and a chair to get down onto the floor in stages and back up again (I also learned to stay on the floor between exercises rather than getting up after each one). The teacher recognised that this was something I needed and was adapting the exercise to enable me to do it.
They say that if you want to know if you're old, you should try falling - if everyone laughs you're young, if everyone rushes to help, you're old. I'm sure everyone wants you to continue with the class and wants to make it as safe as possible for you. You are brave enough to continue doing what you can to exercise and shouldn't be embarrassed by your body not behaving itself. Today the lady on the till asked if I had a bag and if I wanted her to fill it for me and I just accepted with thanks, rather than saying I could manage.
Grateful for getting out of the house (cs drop off, paid a bill at the GPO, went in HB for antiseptic cream - will double as bite cream because the midges feast whenever I go outside - and then found plastic pockets and markers which saved a trek through the market and mall to the stationer's). Grateful to spend 10 minutes sitting under the trees at the cenotaph and for spending time on a new bench on the Civic Square - it faces the Pete Shelley mural and has the title of BuzzcocKs songs engraved on the back).11 -
Totally agree with the others @beanielou. Don't let your fall put you off going again, rest until you feel able to go back & not have sore body parts.
NSD#14 Can't believe I've accrued so many already!
Pleased it's Fri-yay! Did yoga & Norwegian before breakfast. Work went well, though a repeat of the blip at dinnertime with another pupil, i managed to turn it around again.
Finally got a date for my auntie's funeral, middle of next month. Told my cousin we wouldn't be able to.go down, but can access a link to be there virtually. Did some hoovering in my bedroom after tea, then sat knitting & watching TV. Watched an inspiring programme about helping folk struggling on a homestead in Alaska. Made me want to go outside & weed my garden, but will have to wait til the weekend when it's not dark!
Grateful for chats with colleagues, good TV, time to knitUse it up, wear it out

Hi all lots of hugs and hurray's. Managed a parkrun this morning - first one in a while. Have a moment of leisure, then I need to do a bit of editing and then meet with my online writing group which I am looking forwards to.
Have had exchange students stay 4 weeks in a row - a bit mad, but they are mostly lovely and just a bit awkward.
I will definitely be leaving my job this summer, so am now worried about finding something else in time.
Apparently head of department was having rant at people taking off time for their mental health/work related stress, partly of his making. Time to find a new boss!
Have £31 left till next Friday - it will be fine.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
Emergency fund: 100/1000 10%
Weight loose 8.6 kg - while having fun. 0/8.6 0%

Today I am grateful for drying washing outside, for finding a random piece of chocolate in my bag, for doing a workout while Pip bouldered, for my book (and for the whole series being there on borrowbox), for a lie in.

Nearly wet myself laughing @f0xh0les, you've got me down to a T!! If my mum had her way, Raney senior would be my dad 😂, so just call me Misty 😉
A gorgeous day on wakening. Did my Norwegian & wrote my shoppy list, then headed to town. Picked mum up, dropped 3 bags of sewing off & collected another 4... Managed to spend less in L1DL, & bought nothing in T0sco so an added bonus. Dropped some books off I'd sold, had a good natter with the owner of the other haberdashery shop, then headed home.
Quickly put the shopping away & headed outside to weed my raspberry raised bed. Cut out all the dead wood, then sprinkled compost from last year's tomato pots, around each plant. It had been raining half the time, sometimes light spots, sometimes a bit heavier, but I persevered. Read my book & had an ice lolly afterwards.
Watched TV with DS1, then sewed badges on 2 army uniform jackets afterwards.
Grateful for hearing DS1 (who's 22) telling my mum he loved her as we left, the in the garden, chats with like-minded people, & sharing photos of my memory bears on different local pages last night drumming up new customersUse it up, wear it out

Yesterday was a quiet one, just did housework and went to the gym. Got three loads of washing done and partially dried outside, the wind kept blowing the clothes horse over so had to bring it back in after a while. Did a bit of batch cooking as well. I had a physio appointment so no NSD, but confirmed that my ankle is on the mend, he gave me some exercises and wants to see me again in a few weeks. Last time I sprained my ankle I missed out on physio and it's been weak ever since so I'm viewing this as hopefully an investment in future me!
Looked at my budget for coming months, I've let things slip a bit, including using my credit card when I don't need to, and slacking a little on my savings targets. So I must double down my efforts in May to get back on track.
Today I went to see my share pony and had a short ride, no issues with my ankle but all we did was walk. Still happy though. Went to the gym, came home and cleaned my small aquarium. A few small jobs left to do before work tomorrow but nothing crazy so just going to enjoy what's left of a quiet weekend.7
