That is what I have done. I just applied for an everyday current account and did the switch as part of the application. Received Instant acceptance of the new account.danny13579 said:
That's not what it's saying.Lumiona said:I have been with Santander for years but haven't had any incentives from them so I'm planning on giving it a try, however the website is saying that current customers have to do the switch in branch which seems bizarre.
You have to do it in branch if you want to switch into an existing Santander account. You can open a new account with them online as an existing customer without having to visit a branch.1 -
For future reference I've archived the full terms of this offer to the wayback machine:

I and others subsequently received another switch bonus despite having received £50 Amazon switch bonus that you refer to.DJSINGH said:I got the amazon vouchers 5 years ago. Presume that counts as a previous incentive...!2 -
Even with the everyday account, do you still have to put in £1500? If so, can you withdraw it immediately or do you need to leave it in, like the NatWest/RBS/Ulster offers?0

You'd sill need to deposit the £1.5k and it can be withdrawn immediately.SickGroove said:Even with the everyday account, do you still have to put in £1500? If so, can you withdraw it immediately or do you need to leave it in, like the NatWest/RBS/Ulster offers?1 -
Sorry if I missed this, I couldn’t see it in the T&C, I know you can’t switch a joint account to a sole account but couldn’t see mention of switching a sole to a joint account.
This comes as good timing as I was just looking last night to set up a joint Edge account (I already have a sole account but haven’t had a previous switch bonus) to take advantage of the ability to set up a second Edge Saver account. If I can switch my sole RBS to a new joint Edge current account, this is a double win.0 -
For those who have opened a new additional account while being an existing customer, were you asked for your customer number when opening a new account? Also, is it a shortened process for existing customers to open a new account?0

Ray of light. Was the 'Amazon' account closed when you applied for the subsequent account/switch?bristolleedsfan said:

I was not asked for my customer number. It is just the normal questions that are required for opening any account, although no ID was needed to be provided.info_maniac said:For those who have opened a new additional account while being an existing customer, were you asked for your customer number when opening a new account?
