Just signed up for the every day account switch which was very quick and straight forward. It says my account is open but I haven't been asked for any ID. Was this the same for others? Do they send something through later or it just setup?0

Unfortunately does seem to be pretty clear that existing customers need to visit a branch to qualify for this offer. Very annoying, I will still do it though.
Edit: P.S. You should be aware that a hard search is done on your credit file(s) when opening a new Santander current account, how important that is depends on your circumstances and borrowing/mortgaging outlook. Refusing an overdraft facility with the account may potentially limit any impact. This is a whole topic on its own and covered comprehensively in dedicated threads. I myself have opened many current accounts in short spaces of time and have never been refused accounts or credit.
All, I'd like to remind you of this thread as it may help

So I already have the Santander Edge savings account and I’ve just opened a new Everyday account. It was very quick and easy to open it up with no additional ID checks. The new account shows on my app already. I transferred £1500 in and then transfered it straight back.
I set up a credit card direct debit payment and the other DD I opened up a Plum account. Hopefully I will fulfil the criteria and gain the incentive. Thanks again for all the help with this forum. Hopefully this will be my second bank switch, the first one was from HSBC to NatWest and I’ve just transfered the NatWest to Santander.0 -
Can you transfer the required £1500 before the switch (once account opened) or best to wait till switch completed. Also, how long do you need to keep the £1500 in the account before switching it back out?
The recent NatWest/RBS/Ulster ones all stated 24 hours I believe.

They didn't ask for me either. They seem to just use credit agencies.

Thinking of switching to santandar. If I switch my single account can I open a joint account for me and hubby so we would both be able to have separate 7% savings account or as a joint account would we only be able to open one?0

Guys, I've switched so many accounts that I don't remember if I ever got paid by Santander. I only remember switching from Santander to another account, but not vice-versa. Therefore I suspect that although we've had accounts with Santander, we've never been paid. Does anyone know how I can check this to avoid switching unnecessarily, thus wasting a lot of time and getting a mark on the credit-file?0

Going forwards I'd suggest keeping a list of which switching offers you've received and when so you don't have this issue in the future.2
