You seem to be doing really well on no gambling and overpaying debt. I second the suggestion not to do expensive holidays until your children are older.

    Update

Payday and budget set. Aiming for £600 towards MBNA card this month.

Had my first night out with my friends in over a year. Had put money away for it, hotel food and beers just under £100.

Feel a bit sick spending that sort of money which I think is a good thing personally. I would have happily spent £250 on one hand of blackjack when gambling.

Will update my signature with balance figures but managed to pay quite a bit this Jan.

More important than the money, did you have a fun time with your friends?

I think in 2024 you really made an impact on your debt too, don't discount all the hard work you did and what you achieved last year.

You've done really well during this past year to stop gambling, pay down your debt and your relationship with your wife has improved. That is a huge achievement - good luck for 2025.
