My great-aunt used to live in Fleetwood so we would spend a few weeks a year there and go see the illuminations.. I was quite small so don't recall much but the sea went out soooooooooooooooo far... if it went out that far on the east coast we would be able to walk to Belgium!! lol.

MorningNot too sure what is happening to me, I couldn't be bothered with anything last night, no TV, no washing up, etc went to bed at 8.30pm, slept until 6am when 2 lumps of cats wanted feeding, fed them and went back to bed, woke up at 10.15am! so I have eaten toast, and drunk loads of water, and still feel tired.So this morning apart from the above, I've made chicken curry, which is now cooking, timer on my phone is timing for me as I am likely to forget about it. When cooled I'll portion up, label, and freeze.Recycling is outTake large council bin to top of driveway.It is drizzling here, but my very early pots, need planting so that is next to do. The first earliers and main crop are nearly chitted to the right length (1 inch) for them to be planted.Yesterday I dug over my veg patch, weeded it, sorted out the strawberry plants, and replanted them, went and bought some herb plants, so I need to get them in today as well.Have a good day.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Me again. All windows, frames, sills and everything on them cleaned, Poppet has had a walk when the rain eased a little and I've washed out the bins and the bin cupboard in the kitchen.
And that's me done for today as DH will be arriving home soon from his trip and we've a lot of catching up to do before DGD2 arrives for her sleepover later tonight.
See you all on the new thread.Spend less now, work less later.6 -

I've had a busy couple of hours trying to sort the house out since dh took my grandbaby home - amazing how much chaos one child can generate!! 😳😂 Worth it though - I'm besotted with him 😍
Front room wiped down, vacuumed and all toys and debris cleared up, kitchen cleaned and paint brushes washed, bathroom cleaned, his bed stripped and currently in the wm and dw filled and then emptied.
I'm doing nothing else for the rest of the day - we have enough leftovers to do today and tomorrow so it's a help yourself couple of days 😁

Well, that's over and I'm pretty tired. The lunch went well though. They enjoyed my old standby, the pork al latte I found on Youtube a couple of years ago. The trifle was nice too, although I only had a bit as I was concerned about the amount of fat in it (custard made with double cream and double cream on top
). The simnel cake wasn't bad but the fruit sank so it was like a layer cake with plain sponge at the top and fruit sponge at the bottom.
It didn't affect the flavour though and my marzipan was nice.
Have washed up the (mountain of ) lunch pots and, as they stayed for tea and cake, I still have the tea things to wash up and a bit of general tidying up to do. Fortunately no one spilled anything on the table cloth so I shan't have to wash it this time. Normally someone spills red wine or gravy on it - and sometimes that 'someone' is me!@roundtuit glad you like marzipan. If I'm ever able to get up to see my brother and his wife and it's a Saturday when Brigg market is on perhaps we could have a Brigg flymeet - I'll bring marzipan.

@Cloth_of_Gold that sounds like a plan 😊
I've had a relaxing afternoon watching films: Alice Through the Looking Glass (Johnny Depp 😍) followed by Smokey & The Bandit (Burt Reynolds 😍). And finished another book to add to the cs pile.
