It was indeed Beanie! 😊😊
Not been particularly lovely since then, mind you🙄 I'm still sniffling and snuffling, not too bad but enough to make me feel under par, and today I'm using an annoying amount of tissues.
Spent some of last night (in my dreams, of course) pulling tiny fish hooks out of my eyes 😱 so have put in some eye drops and made sure I have plenty of water by the bed 😂
Sigh. Another burst one tomorrow but I'm hoping some of the busy-ness will wear off soon...6 -
Ha, no chance of losing that busy-ness just yet! Yesterday was just ridiculous and I ended up working till almost 10pm trying to get things done that I'd promised to people 🙄 I've said a big NO to something I originally said a hesitant 'potentially maybe' to, but as part of my NO I said I'd finish an initial small (in the grand scheme of things) task to help smooth things along. That's what kept me going til 10pm, so I am very glad I said no to the larger thing - I really just do NOT have time!
Might have had more time if I wasn't firefighting though 🙄 Put out a social media post that attracted many hundreds of bots into a colleague's inbox 🙈 All sorted now, but it took a lot of messing with IT, sorting alternatives, apologising for people having to send links out twice etc that I could have well done without yesterday!
Hey ho. Now I am all discombobulated as it's Friday, and I would normally be off, but I'm not because I'm going to am event. But I'm going with a friend, and I don't have to do anything but attend, so it feels a bit like a day out, because I can't get any other work done anyway, so it doesn't really feel like a work day, but also it's only my fourth working day this week so it feels like Thursday rather than Friday because I had Monday off 🤯
So a short weekend too, when I could do with a long one. Roll on August! Only 3 working weeks til I'm off for a month so can't complain!11 -
Moening chums, happy weekend!
Another unintentionally long one yesterday. I went to an event in another city in the afternoon, travelling with a friend - ended up offering her help with a family logistical difficulty which was lovely but did mean I didn't get home til 9pm. Very lovely to hang out with them, always, and they often feed me so it was nice to reciprocate! 😊
Then late at night I finally caved and ordered a lawnmower 😂 Very excited about this. I've been pondering it since we moved here. Started with a push along (I had high expectations of myself 😂😂) then a strimmer. Then neighbours gave me a plug in electric one that they were getting rid of because it was annoying - it's far too annoying, and requires such a lot of extension cable that that becomes even more annoying 😂
Held off getting a decent mower because 'it's not that bad doing the entire garden with the strimmer' (even though I often moan about it) but finally decided yesterday that NOW IS THE TIME to make the rest of the summer a little easier on myself 😊
With my MSE head on I even went back downstairs to get the credit card so I can get an extra £2.06 of cashback next July 😂😂 It all adds up, right?! 😂😂
Had a text at 7.04am to say it's ready for collection, so we'll head off to do that. Mr Cheery and I most have musical performances this evening, and there's a slight chance some friends will stay here after mine, so a vague plan for the day...
* wash bedding (really need a spare set for the single spare room bed - might have to put the heating on to get it dry 🙄 Might just get a spare set while we're out!)
* last minute flute practice
* get pictures on Vinted
* possibly mow the grass depending on weather
That's probably ambitious enough I think. Still got the tail end of a cold so feeling a bit ropey.
Will ponder Vinted this morning. Extra bit of cash is always a nice challenge, but actually I'm feeling quite overrun at the minute and could do with making life easier for myself, not giving myself an extra job!7 -
I would buy the extra set of bedding, it will save you putting the heating on today and on future occasions, as well as saving you from stressing about needing to sort out cleaning the spare bedding on the day you want to use it.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

Another vote for a spare set of bedding! Don't think I could cope without spares for each bed - nothing worse than needing to wash, dry and remake the bed on the same day!7
-
I'm with the spare set too. Maybe not a rush purchase but having options makes life easier when people come and stay unexpectedly (says she who has no idea where the spare set is!)Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -

Ha, big consensus here about spare bedding! 😂😂 I should point out we do have spare bedding for our own bed, just only have one set for the spare single bed. It's not usually a problem as it's not used often, but there's been one of us sleeping in it for the past fortnight while a cold has been wallowing in the household.
Anyway, you'll be delighted to hear, I'm sure, that i have indeed now bought a set of spare bedding 😂 and if our friends don't stay tonight I'll enjoy it myself 😂
Also collected the lawnmower, so if the rain continues to hold, I'll experiment with it when I get home...11 -
Well I am pleased to report that the lawnmower is excellent! It coped admirably with my too-long grass and uneven bumpy ground full of molehills in the slight drizzle, without complaining once 😊 Whole garden (well, all the bits I'd usually strim) done in 45 mins. Not effortless, it's a heavy mower and there is a LOT of turning corners, we've not got a big square lawn 😂 But still, it was good to not be covered in grass like I usually am when strimming, and lovely not to have to wear ear protection!
Tired now though. I need to leave in a couple of hours. Neighbours are having a party and Mr Cheery wants to go round after he gets back at midnight 🙄 We'll see!9
