Hope so! 😊
Well, my evening went cheerfully 😊 Couple of friends came over which was lovely, and we nipped to the pub afterwards. Drove past neighbour's party on the way back, it's still going... Mr C's not due back for an hour though - can I stay awake for that long??9 -
Well, I did stay awake, and we joined the party at 12.30am 🙄😂 They were down to the last four, some more sozzled than others 😂 Stayed for a couple of hours and then we were all ready for bed.
So a gentle one today! 😂
Mr Cheery has gone for a nap, and I am watching Stacey Solomon trying to inspire myself into some decluttering 😂 First thing- this bowl I ate my dinner in, which has a hairline crack which I keep forgetting about because it's not really visible, but scrapes on the spoon and at some point will inevitably crack with a bowl full of soup in 🙄
Then on to clothes - I've decided they're off to the charity shop rather than Vinted so they can all be gone at the same time.11 -
Phew! Spent the last five hours, with plenty of breaks, pottering round in the study, sorting out my desk and the big shelves. They're very deep, and were housing a massive unwieldy pile of paperwork, craft items, books, seeds, and miscellaneous nonsense.
Been quite tired so it's been a gentle and slow process, but Stacey Solomon and co have spurred me on 😂 Now have a bag of books and a bag of clothes for the charity shop, a pile of paper for the recycling, some confidential waste, and a bag of actual rubbish.
And stuff all over my desk and the sofa that needs to mostly go either upstairs or in the loft but that wasn't a job for tonight 😂
Busy week again this week 🙄
Monday in work (different venue, same city). Tuesday at home, then a train down south at half 2, staying overnight. Wednesday an all day meeting then train home, back about 8. Thursday back to the same venue as Monday.
Friday I'll need to spruce up house and garden and create a treasure hunt 😂 Saturday another band performance for me in the afternoon, then friends are coming back with their kids to stay over. Sunday friends will still be here first thing, but then we're off out to meet Mr Cheery's friend for lunch.
Roll on August I say!7 -
Evening MSE chums. Gosh, hasn't the weather been all over the place today?!
Just got home. Got the evening to myself, but lots to do, so here's an overambitious list:
7-7.45 FOOD ETC
* make tea
* ring mum
7.45-8.30 PREP FOR TOMORROW
* pack
* book trains
* book swimming for the morning
8.30-9 HOUSE
* finish tidying study
* maybe change sheets in spare room
* maybe run hoover round
9-11 PROJECTS
* flute practice
* IPL machine

Wow, that sounds like a full-on time ahead, go you! And excellent on the decluttering front. I am semi obsessed with Stacey Solomon programmes at the minute and am eying up various cupboards to get sorted. Is the study looking gorgeous now?

all action here ! Yeah to the lawnmower- always lovely to finally buy something one has wanted for ages ! (I have had a thing arrive today of that kind and another due over the weekend )
loving most of us here are decluttering- I am inspired by Swedish death clearing instead but whatever works - there is no way I would be laying all my stuff out in a warehouse !DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Morning all 😊 I'm awake but not properly awake so I've come back to bed with a cuppa for a nap 😂
It's been a long week. Not objectionable, but I've travelled every day, had a night away, didn't get home til half 9 on Wednesday, and had friends round for tea last night - it was lovely and we sat outside and watched the sunset and the moon rose over the hills with a little fire 😊😊😊
Today is activity day though. Lots to do!
9-10 UP & AT 'EM
* shower & dressed
* breakfast
* washing up from last night
* washing on
10-12 GARDEN
* scythe long grass that's been flattened in rain
* mow rest of grass
* cut nettles round fruit trees
* weed greenhouse
* peg washing out
12-2 LUNCH & PLANNING
* lunch 😂
* plan treasure hunt
* make list of supplies & errands
* more washing
2-5 POSSIBLE EXCURSION
* gather supplies
* maybe cafe trip
* nip into gym to check about referring Mr Cheery
5-7 GARDEN ROUND 2
* anything that didn't get done earlier
7-8 TEA & FOOD PREP
* make tea
* prep food for tomorrow's guests
8-9 HOUSE BLESSING
* flylady home blessing hour!
9-10 FLUTE
* practice!
* make sure I have everything ready for tomorrow's concert
Clearly this is a wildly ambitious plan but that's just how I roll 😂 things may change round - Mr C often likes to start the day with an excursion but refused to plan last night so we may have to change order. Garden may not need four hours, but treasure hunt planning is likely to take longer than I think 🙄😂 I do have a bit of Saturday morning for a general tidy round if necessary.
First though, setting the alarm for half an hour and having another snooze 😂9 -
Blimey Cheery, that's quite a list! I hope it's not going to be as hot up there as it is here - if it is, your list needs to include midday resting and a lot more fluid intake!
A treasure hunt sounds fun, but I know from experience it's hard work.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

After reading that list, it's no wonder you need a nap Cheery! I"m always amazed at just how many fun things you pack into your personal time!
I'm currently at the desk in the summer house trying to keep cool in the shade with a portable fan going for air-circulation! Had one meeting planned this morning that the other party was a no-show for - given that they are in another time-zone AND their is currently a world-wide cyber situation, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and have rescheduled! Silver lining is that it gave me a bit of time to get on with a pile of to-do's and eating of small frogs that will make next week easier!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
